Aw, shucks: James Cameron leaving United States

James Cameron is leaving the United States and heading to New Zealand. How did Glenn take the news? Well…..

“May I just say everybody cross New Zealand off your list. If you were ever thinking about, I’ll go to New Zealand, cross it off your list,” he said.

“Isn’t Obama building a society that James Cameron desperately seeks right now? Why would he leave it?” Pat asked.

” I couldn’t tell ya,”Unless someone of his wealth understands what average people really don’t. Or do but don’t have the money to move to New Zealand,” Glenn joked.

Has Cameron been listening to the show? Why else would he move out of Obama’s America to buy farmland.

“When America falls, I hope you can make films in Mandarin,” Glenn joked.

“Communist regimes and art have such a symbiotic relationship,” Stu added.

Oh I can see the films he will make in Manderin:

(Cameron: “Director, what is my inspiration for this film.”
(Director: “Easy, you follow the script.”
(Cameron: “Yes, but what is the motivation for my character, the feeling for it…”
    (Director motions individual over.
(Director: “Comrad Political Officer, we seem to have a problem with our newest recruit.
(Politcal Officer, holding pistol in hand)

(Cameron to camera: “Good morning Comrades in the re-education camps, welcome to the workers paradise, this is my last day on the job, ignore the screams and whining for mommy when they shoot me…”

James Cameron is leaving the United States because he find Christianity repellant. There is a religious awakening in the United States right now. The Christian dialogue has been growing, and folks like Cameron sense that Christians are winning the debate.

Since Christianity won’t collapse the way Cameron and other anti-Christian bigots would like, they’re left examining what the future holds for the United States if Christian Americans won’t give up their Bibles and their guns. The same potential for chaos we all see with government officials and socialists who are determined to take over our country at seemingly any cost, is also seen by Cameron and his ilk, but they believe Christians will be to blame.

I predict that we’ll see more and more celebrities and very wealthy people leave the U.S. over the course of the next few months. On the chance that violence is averted and the good guys win, they’ll no doubt return, as a staunchly Christian America is the best place on Earth to live, even for those that can’t stand us. However, if the chaos happens and escalates, and authoritarian collectivist rule by the federal government ensues… well, no one will be wanting to live here.

He’s leaving because he doesn’t want to pay 2/3rds of his income to Obama! They might support it with YOUR money…..

Hate to burst anyone’s bubble, but James Cameron was never an American citizen to begin with. He’s Canadian.

    Is the pay good?

    Pay for what?

I read an article that says James Cameron has been in love with New Zealand for twenty years. Of course this does not attempt to give James Cameron’s explanation, just another pathetic attempt to bash Obama.

How do you think things will be better in a “staunchly Christian America”?

Hey, cut James Cameron some slack.  First, Cameron was born in Canada.  Canada, like New Zealand, is part of the British Commonwealth.

There is much to like about New Zealand.  New Zealand ranks #4 on Heritage Foundation’s list of economic freedom.  Canada ranks #6.  Unfortunately, the United States dropped to #10.  I’ve lived or worked in #1, #2, #3, #4, #6, and #10.  If Obama wins a second term and the U.S. refuses to awake from its denial, #1, #2, #3, #4, or #6 might be decent alternatives.

The taxes in New Zealand aren’t horrendous (compared to California), although there’s a 15% goods and services tax.  The people there are amazingly friendly and decent.

well, Cameron IS one of the “Millionares and Billionares” Obama wants to tax to death…That’s not bashing-just the truth.

It could be that New Zealand is a beautiful country.

Lose the hate, it defines ones character.
I see it reflected on boards every day. No wonder when we plant these seeds the conscience tends to be bruised and withdrawn.

Yeah, James Cameron IS a Canadian and probably has had it up to his neck with the American system. Moving to New Zealand would make good sense for someone who has the money like he does. After all, he could move anywhere he pleases and live comfortably, way more comfortably than any of us. And, may I ask Beck why this is such a big story anyways?

People will have values again and no longer be morally bankrupt trolls expecting something for nothing.

May be a case of Hollywood-itis or Cameron knows something about the San Andreas faultline and needs to move facilities in preparation for documenting California’s new coastline.

‘Big story’? The commentary lasted less than 2 minutes. Hello……

Hope Tim Tebow is not the reason he is leaving.  NZ has far more professional athletes who hold up Jesus as Lord in a public way.

He took Allen West’s advice, now maybe some others will take it

Well, let’s see. Cameron was born in French Canada.  His roots are from Scotland.  He was educated at American schools.  He is a very successful capitalist.  And now wants to live in NZ, a part of the Brits.  He can do anything he desires with his hundreds of millions made in America and around.  He will probably be back.  So, don’t hold your breath.

Kind of dumb,Glen. I can think of many reasons to move to New Zealand. I see an adventure ahead-living in a different area like that. I lived in England for a while and loved it! It absolutely had nothing to do with the economic or social things happening in the US. It was an adventure! I would like to see more than just the US.

Being in the vfx community I can say that one of the major reasons for Cameron to make such a move would be most likely to capitalize on his relationship/involvement with Weta (the vfx production company behind Avatar and the Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Peter Jackson. They are the up-and-comers of innovation and creativity/artistic talent for vfx film-making. California is only a scraggling skeleton of what it once was as far as film is concerned. Sure there will always be some big wig production companies out here, but they too are having a hard time holding on to their status as movers and shakers in the movie business. Weta is one company that still sees the value behind the process beyond just making money-they have a valuable vision for the artists and for the reason people have always gone to the movies.

I asked if the pay was good because you seem to put so much effort into your comedy bit. Cameron may have been Canadian, and he may not have ever officially become a U.S. citizen, but Cameron was living in Malibu (had been for years) just prior to deciding to move to N.Z. Maybe if the pay is good enough you could put a bid in on his house.
