I commute from Philadelphia to Washington, DC three times a week.  I wish gas were $1.78 again!

Well said. Once again we see the truth coming out – under Obama gas prices have dramatically risen across the board and will continue to do so as long as he remains in office. Fox news even has an article from Obama’s energy guru about the rising gas prices; they want the collapse of the nations economy into the hands of a new socialist dictatorship under Obama.

    Looks like Sarah Palin’s handwriting

  • Anonymous

My picture to the left (can’t see too well) is actually a picture of a post-it that my spouse and I had printed last summer.  We have been distributing packs all over the east coast & midwest – perfect for gas pumps and grocery stores :). We left some at GBTV in NYC in September.
It simply asks “How’s that Hope and Change working for you?”

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ORC276O2Z3ON2L4JJPBJWJBSLI Christina

Sounds like we have homwork to do! Hopefully some idiot zero supporter won’t rip it off and throw it in the garbage. I’m in KY, so I will do my part in my area.

  • Anonymous

the president has NO control over gas prices. But the hope and change it’sn’t working, he’s right on that. Do you people think he does?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_LR3I4X656U47FEK4XYRP6VHJ5U Marie

It’s reeeeeeeaaaaaallllly weird how gas prices were Bush’s fault but not Obama’s fault.  Fuuuuunnnnnnnnnny.

  • Anonymous

He sure isn’t doing anything to help get this country to be less dependent on foreign oil.  He hates fossil fuels. He has kept his campaign promise from 2008 – remember this – “Energy prices will have to necessarily skyrocket”? & they certainly are.

  • Anonymous

..Can’t help but think the price is artificial; created by Obama so he can ‘enact change’ later to help his campaign.  He’s already said No to letting the people demonstrate their own initiative in solving the problem with home grown resources.

  • Anonymous

He’s exercising his ‘power’ to stop Americans from finding/working out our own solutions…like using our own resources.  He’s definitely on the Energy Czar committee.  Why are we allowing these people to have this tool to manipulate us and paying them big bucks to continue?

  • General Kota

Yes he does when he refuses to drill or open more oil refineries and remember the key stone pipe line. Doing all of these will make the price of oil go down but I rest because you are just a zombie of Obama and don’t think for yourself.

  • General Kota

Don’t use logic on the left it hurts their brain.

  • General Kota

Would you stop stocking Sarah Palin boy you are a creepy small minded fool aren’t you?

Barack Ahmadinejad could not do anything about the gas prices even if he wanted to. He must believe it is better  to get in bed with the oil thieves then upset them and end up six feet under.  In other words same story different president. (America is Screwed.)

The prez may have SOME control of prices…SOME, but in reality it’s still a world market.

Could the administration do more?  Sure – loads more.  Will they?   Not in OwebamaCorp….

  • Anonymous

$3.65!?  Lucky!  Try living in the People’s Republic of California where gas is, and has been for some time, well above $4.00.

  • General Kota

It is basic economics 101 supply and demand if you have more supply then demand the price goes down. What a minute I just figured out why the left hate the rich the rich are smarter than they are.

  • Anonymous

Are you suggesting that Government policy, regulation and “face” have no effect on the price of gas? Do you really believe that? I know that there are many influences…supply, demand are the easy ones….the current bad guys are the speculators….(even though they have been around for 100 years it is only now that they are manipulating the market, right?).
What about deals with different states, foreign policy and expectations for the future?

All these impact the price of gas…and MOST can eventually be traced back to the economic and foreign policies of the guy in the oval office. This was true under Bush, Carter, and now Obama.

To say the President has no control over the price of gas is to say economic policy makes no difference to the economy.

I doubt that even you would state that sort of nonsense!

A sticky note with a similar message could be placed near the meat freezer, milk cooler, etc. in grocery stores. Also very effective!

Supply and demand is supposed to work.  I can’t remember; it is something I recall from several years ago.  I am no economist, but because of Wall Street, they can  manipulate the price, supply and demand is being countermanded.  Does anyone here recall that from approximately two – three years ago?  I was listening to an economic’s analyst on KWY News Radio out of Philly.  I cannot recall the details.  I will call the station and see if they can recall this.  But I agree — we should boycott them into submission.  It would require sacrifice on everyone’s part however.  We either hang together or we will hang separately.  If the government would allow us to distill our own ethanol — no I had a permit for an energy alternative experiment for a relative in a school project.  Didn’t know whiskey was so easily made.  I could make my own fuel — I live on a farm.  Uncle Sammie won’t let me produce my own fuel.  I am getting tire of my uncle — VERY!

Yes, and the news is being censored also.  I will copy that and post it later.  Things that can sink Obama’s reelection are disappearing from websites world wide.  News at eleven!

    Yesterday
I went to Post on Human Events (a conservative site). I wrote a post
that was disallowed. I had said nothing mean or acrimonious. So I
asked disqus (the moderators) why? Instead of responding to me they
posted my complaint on H.E. Obviously I must have hit pay dirt with
this censorship thing. I went onto JPOST and other Israeli sites and I
found an article. I went to click on the link
(for a spit second it appeared — the article concerning Obama’s back
turning) and Obama’s web page appeared atop the article with
solicitations of donations etc. Obama does not want the “back turning
incident” or others that can politically damage him — thus we are
encountering censorship for the first time in US history. Disqus is now
controlled by leftest thinking, apparently. Folks, wake up and smell the coffee. Get
involved and disseminate this information. Tomorrow I will repost the
status that started this merry go round. “Commodus cannot rule — he
    must not rule!!!

People have memory loss obviously. I suppose it was Obama’s fault in the summer of 2008 also when gas prices topped $4.00 a gallon for the first time in history? If I remember correctly before that date, gas prices fluctuated a lot more than they have in the last 4 years.

Regarding the cost of gasoline at the pumps in the U.S.: The only difference in the effect of a Republican controlled Federal government and the Democrat government is timing. If we had been under a Republican controlled government, gasoline was going to be $5.00/gallon anyway. It was all just a matter of time.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/Z3ZR3UHIO72SNIORBMOGVULQLY President

First of all, there’s no way to know, so all we’re doing here is speculating.  Since we are on the topic of speculation, lets continue.  Rep/Dem doesn’t matter.  What does matter is who would have done the best job regarding gas prices.  One of the Republicans that would have been in the White House, had Obama not won it, is none other than the once-governor of Alaska.  Alaska, as you may know, is one of our leading producers of crude oil.  Guess what make gas prices go down…supply and demand of crude oil.  It stands a reasonable chance that, in speculation, our gas prices would have NEVER reached $3 a gallon under such an administration.

  • Anonymous

Yes, this is American greed at its best! Why is it that we are being told ahead of time that come May, we can expect prices at the pump to be well over $4? Also, why is it that when oil drops a buck, gas prices drop only 1 cent? But, when oil goes up 50 cents, gas prices jump 5 cents a gallon? Again, the speculators are playing with oil prices and us poor suckers are being taken to the cleaners by the gas stations.

Great idea on the post-it notes but most places they’ll need to be enclosed in plastic or they will disintegrate in the weather. Maybe some company will print them.  My husband bought a ball cap at a flea market, printed by a commercial company, that says “Don’t blame me, I didn’t vote for Obama”.  So many people have wanted one that I wish we could have purchased them by the case and resold them–we’d be richer by several thousand.  By the way, can somebody give me a good reason why they think that going to all the expense of building the Keystone Pipeline would lower our gas price?  Also, why do we need the Keystone Pipeline for Canadian tar sand crude (which is very abrasive and has no significant history of being sent through a pipeline) going thousands of miles through our country when all they need to do is refine the stuff in Canada or in northern North Dakota and then send it through the existing pipelines? Of course, that would mean they would have to issue a permit to ND!

If we open more oil refineries and drill here, their prices go up over seas because we are not purchasing as much from them. supply and demand. use your own logic genius.

He will not allow further drilling, so he does have “some control” over it. If the foreigners saw that we were serious about using our natural resources maybe things would change.

There have always been speculators and oil companies have always been greedy. “What’s different now?” is the question you should be asking. For one thing, money is being printed at a crazy rate, so the dollar is weak as a result of Obama trying to spend his way to a recovery. That drives up the price of oil. Non-private land and offshore oil production is down under Obama. That loss of supply drives up the price of oil. Yes, middle east unrest is a factor, but what’s the proper response to that? Become independent of middle east oil by dumping sewage in the desert and hope we get enough algae-derived ethanol out of it? Really? But what really makes your “free market run wild! speculators! greedy oil companies!” argument disingenuous is the fact that neither you nor Obama really think that these high prices are a problem and that the prices should actually go even higher.
