And when I requested to opt-out of dues, SEIU tells me "it's a condition of employment" to work for In-Home Supportive Services in my county. Something just doesn't feel right. I don't want a penny going to SEIU now or ever.

looks like this one finally died. I'd like to make a couple comments that no one will probably read but it does help my consciense. this thread has been on my mind off and on since I left in a huff. I beat the drum pretty hard for the cause of freedom. freedom, period. i forgot something. for that I owe 2 people apologies, i hope you know who you are. you/they were trying to remind me or educate if you will of the other half of the equation. freedom is absolute. no ifs, ands or buts. there's a catch and if it was stated, I missed it. the other half of the equation is ......responsibility. if you use your freedom of speech in a theatre and scream "FIRE", you must accept responsibility for your actions. same goes for each item in the Bill of Rights. you have the right to keep and bear arms. if you use the right to frighten innocent people...you pay the price. again, responsibility. the internet has given us unlimited freedom of speech but it lacks accountability; it does not require responsibility unless forced by a moderator or some such function. lesson learned and won't be forgotten...I learned this in school and it was ingrained in the military. living and breathing it day after day, one assumes everyone understands responsibility. not the case in general and not the case on this site; what an awful awakening. I will stand on my position that if you react to the nutjobs, you give them ammunition to continue their insanity. read what they say, if you must but don't react. it's what they want, its what they live for. please accept my apologies for the poor spelling, one handed typing stinks on ice.

The general consensus is that it is Unconstitutional to force people to buy anything, particularly health care, also look at the waivers that were granted to special interest groups, unions and corporations who contributed to the Democrat party so they could be exempt from Obama care. Fox Nation this morning, showed our troops training in the streets of St. Louis Mo. What is going down here, do they expect riots if the Health care bill is overturned?

Marines never quit - you shouldn't either. Stick around, this site might surprise you. Sites where everyone agrees with you are boring. I just wish some could learn to stop the name calling. That goes for both sides.

Unfortunately, even Paris Island isn't what it used to be. When I went to boot camp in 1963, if you had your thumb sticking out at "dress right dress", you got it bitten off. -Semper Fi-
