I wanted to start my own business (a dog kennel) when I had lost my job, but every single gov’t organization had its hand out for fees, taxes, permits, impacts. I was required to redo the bathroom in my house at a $10,000 expense on the off chance that a handicap person had to use the bathroom while dropping off their dog.. All this before I bought a single kennel or put up a fence. I did not have the capital for all the fees and had to scrap the idea. I had been planning on hiring 3 people based on the number of dogs I could keep on my property, comfortably. So you’re right Mr. President, I didn’t build that, thanks to you and those like you.

Great article. I now think of these government intrusions and over-regulation of business to be akin to the old mafia protection shake-down. Pay us, or you will not operate in this town or this country. No difference. November, please sweep all the debris out of DC. We need to get our country back on track to what our founders so graciously and wisely set up for us. Romney/Ryan November.

My brother and I started a business once; we started a tree harvesting service. We made a lot of money cutting down trees on properties where people just wanted the tree removed from near their homes. It was profitable but it did not last. There was too much regulation even then back in the 90’s. It was tough but we enjoyed the idea of being your own boss and it was a great experience. Starting your own business today ! it must take a lot of courage and despite the regulation I know you built it all buy your self. The roads, the infrastructure, we built that together, the individual, the boss! G-d bless you ! You did that , You built that all by yourselves. That’s what makes America great!
