Are you implying that GM would build cars intended for the US market in China? Trade barriers put in place decades ago make that business proposition very difficult as evidenced by the many foreign car companies that have plants in the US, e.g. Hyundai, Subaru, Honda, BMW, Toyota, etc. If it was cheaper to build them in China and ship them to the US, they’d be doing it already.

The way I see it it was an honest mistake the only difference I can see between China and Italy is that one is run by Chinese and the other is run by Italians.

I believe you are right on both counts. They can’t accept anything outside of the lie based stuff they believe in, and Italy is definitely not part of the USA.

I don’t think that the commute would be doable for most Americans – LOL!
