Again i say that by grace we are said through faith in the Lord. Because we can never repay him it is only by his mercy that we have salvation. This does not contradict with "Faith without works is dead". I must confess that i didn't really expect you to see what you were unwilling to see, just as i didn't expect such a spirit of anger, contempt, and hatred be returned. You actions remind me of the pharisees, they were so focused on the law of Moses that when the Lord came to show them a greater law they mocked him, and set to trap him in his words. They did not even try to see what he was showing them. Now I am not saying in any way that I am the Lord, what i am saying is that your actions remind me of there actions anger, contempt, and hate.

Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

I hope one day you will strive to look beneath the surface past your reflection, and see what is ingrained in almost every verse of the scriptures. I hope that instead of choosing to pick and choose and twist the scriptures to your view you will look to see how they work together. I hope this obsession of yours doesn't bring greater hatred into your heart.

Mormonism is a false religion? How so? They, like EVERY OTHER Christian sect out there, believe that we are saved THROUGH CHRIST. They, like EVERY OTHER Christian sect, accept Christ as their personal savior. If that makes Mormonism a false religion, than that means ALL Christian sects are false. If that's the case you're trying to make, than just go away.

Ricardo, I am not a Mormon. However, as a Christian, I am absolutely appalled by your outright LIES, and that is exactly what they are.

Now, I recommend that any Christian do NOT take at face value what Ricardo says. He is absolutely lying here about the Mormon faith.

All this meaningless prattle, and yet your religion is still provably a false cult. After you explain to me why the original papyri that Smith translated into the Book of Abraham is actually taken from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, maybe you can show me where the Mormons are on the Moon and the surface of the sun (As your Living Prophet (now dead) #2 asserted). And then maybe you can find me all the numerous cities, war horses, elephants, and semetic indians all went to. There is no evidence for any of it, and yet you vainly proclaim that Jesus Himself couldn't convince me of Mormonism! You are projecting! Your religion is based on a house of cards, and if you do not come out of it, you'll wind up in the same pit as Old Joey Smith!

By the way, if you couldn't defend Mormonism in the first place

I didn't say that I couldn't, I just said that I wouldn't waste my time trying to convince you that you're wrong. Jesus Himself could appear to you in person and tell you that you're wrong about the Mormons and you wouldn't listen.

Your defense is your testimony

Where did I say that? You can't quote me as saying such because I didn't say anything like that. Here's what I said (slightly altered to be more clear):

I think I've made it perfectly clear that I don't intend to argue with a
contentious person such as yourself, who will never go away conceding anything. That doesn't mean that I couldn't [invalidate your claims about the Book of Abraham] or that my testimony
is merely a facade; it just means that I think it would be
absolutely pointless talking to you.

Yet here I am trying to educate you on the value of reading what people actually say. But I digress.

This is true, and yet you believe something as shallow as a feeling in your chest as confirmation of anything?

That, and I've spent a fair amount of time doing my homework. But, hey, maybe if you tell me to "open my eyes" with a little more self-righteousness I'll be convinced. That last sentence was sarcasm, in case you couldn't tell.

and there is nothing that can defend against the fact that Egyptologists
confirmed the Book of Abraham is a fraud through direct translation of
Smith's original papyri.

Again, absolutely there is. Again, I'm not going to waste my time trying to convince you that you're wrong. That would be an exercise in futility. There are plenty of Mormons on the internet willing to put up with you (go find some). I'm not one of them. Now, stop putting words in my mouth. Work on your reading comprehension skills. Finally, don't be so angry and hostile. That way, you won't get reactions like mine. I am done talking with you. For reals.

"It is only by grace that we are saved"... this is not what your link even claimed. It actually argues that grace without works is dead. It only states that one must believe, otherwise your good works will not save you. It states repeatedly that we must "endure unto the end," and that you are saved by grace after "all that we can do." It also claims baptism is necessary for salvation, as well as following the laws and the commandments. It even distorted Jesus' discussion with the rich young man. Jesus tells the man to give up all that he had and follow him if he would be perfect. Your website does not mention that the young man walked away, to which Jesus declared that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to be saved. And the apostles, surprised, asked "Who then can be saved?" And Christ replied, 'With man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Certainly, Christ teaches personal righteousness. He also says, "Why callest thou me good? Only God is good." He also said:

Joh 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? (29) Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Only the Mormon fantasizes that his righteousness is something other than a filthy rag. If the rich young man couldn't enter heaven, despite following God and the commandments all his life, why would the Mormon be saved, who even celebrates materialism as a sign of God's good graces towards him? It is not a matter of not trying to be good or not being good... it is a matter of an impossibility, as Christ stated Himself, for man to ever be considered "good." And this is why salvation can never be allotted due to merit, because no Mormon will ever be able to do "all that he can" and ascend to the highest level to become a polygamous god. He will always fall short. His righteousness will always be a dung heap. He will never have room to boast of his superiority over any other, because the law has shown that we are all under sin and have fallen short of the Kingdom of heaven. Of course, this isn't a huge problem for the Mormon, since they believe in lesser levels of heaven anyway. Everyone is getting in to heaven, save for a small minority of the really evil who will be sent to outer darkness, but works will determine if you get to go to the highest heaven or to one of the lower levels. I wonder if Hitler will enter the Celestial heaven? After all, he was offered Mormon baptism and sealed to his wife by the LDS.

I'll also address the Baptism and Holy Spirit claims. The Thief on the cross was in paradise with Jesus Christ the moment he passed. He was not baptized, did not learn any secret handshakes, and never waited in spirit prison for some Mormon to be baptized in his name so that he may exit. Another example: Cornelius and his family. They were filled with the Holy Spirit before they were even baptized! So the LDS has all these laws and formulas that the Bible utterly ignores, and then they pretend that their absurd beliefs can be defended by the Bible!

Regarding the deity of man. The religion of the Bible is and always has been a monotheistic religion. The quote from Pslams continues with: "...But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." It is not that those men who would die are gods, or gods in embyro, as the Mormons like to believe. They are magistrates who are clothed in divine authority as sanctioned by God's commandments. Christ's argument is one of "How much more than?" His claim to being God as the exalted Messiah is even greater than the mere magistrates who stood as representatives of God.

The scripture is clear, and cannot be broken:

Isa_44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

And yet, the Mormons imagine that the "Godhead" is a heavenly stake Presidency, with 3 different "Gods" working together, and that they themselves shall ascend to the Celestial and become the "only God" of their own planets.
