More importantly, this story identifies the true Beck–the one who has strived to create himself as someone more important than he is. Remember that (daily? weekly?) junior high stunt Beck pulled in the first two years of the Obama Administration with his silly little red phone–waiting for the President to call him? I saw his show on Fox during workouts at my gym and stared in amazement that any reputable network consider this as “news”. Seriously, what President in their right mind would call a rodeo clown entertainer whose sole purpose was to inflate himself and boost ratings? As for 2012, aside from the candidates who were looking for votes in the primaries from any possible source (Newt, Michele Bachmann  and the sainted Santorum come to mind) why would a legitimate Presidential candidate sully himself/herself by talking to Beck? Beck’s narcissitic world view is the problem–he thinks HE is the story. Every aspect of his website and TV show illustrate this point. Beck in a mock Oval Office? Really– who the heck views themselves in those terms? Beck parking his plane next to Romney on the tarmac–ooh Mr. Beck is so important he has his own plane and attends a Romney rally–expecting, desperately seeking recognition.Beck giving Romney the George Washington farewell address–hmmn, who does that other than someone who is trying to create a story or a force the disinterested person into a false relationship?. This little stunt is perfectly consistent with Beck’s behavior of picking up the red phone, waiting for the President to call. Kudos to Romney for ignoring Beck; shame on him for not sending a thank you note with the return of the document.

Keep pushing your ego trip Glenn. Your sycophants, Pat and Stu will always be there to let you know how important you are.
