He starts out by saying that gas prices have gone down because of fracking. Petroleum for your car and natural gas for heating are two completely separate fuels. Then he doesn't even know what a cubic foot is. Then they lie about the history, safety and process of hydraulic fracturing. And no CLIMATE CHANGE is not an international university conspiracy, but all fossil fuels are finite. The US had the largest supply of oil after WWII, but we burnt it all in less than 50 years. But as long as they say America and Socialism enough times... Please people, stop getting your information from these IGNORANT, LYING MORONS.

So, if this is true, fracking is so "safe", why does it need an exemption from Clean Air, Clean Water and Safe Drinking Water Acts?

And how can fracking ever lead to energy independence? First, reliance on a diminishing resource can never lead to independence, but even more important, most of the LNG is going to be exported as the price here is too low.

So explain, how is this patriotic or fiscally conservative? Selling our national resources rather than reserving them for the day we need them?

I own a drilling company in Texas. Most water bearing formations that produce clean drinkable water are thousands of feet shallower than the oil and gas formations that are being fracked. Fracking wings that result cannot only reach a few hundred feet. The only real way to pollute one of these water formations is for the drilling company to fail to properly complete the well which is a separate step of oil and gas extraction and has nothing to do with fracking. Each state has its own agency that regulates the completion process to make sure it is done correctly. And lets remember that if an oil company allows the oil and gas to pollute a water formation is is losing the very oil and gas it intends to sell for a profit.

I was trained as a astrophysicist and mechanical engineer with a basic background in the field of geological, geophysical and petroleum. I'm not a PhD in "Earth Science", but I do use logic and reason with what I've learned. The Earth's mantle is a complex, moving, living entity that is too massive to be affected by anything of short term human event and remotely close to the process of drilling, cementing, fracking and producing petroleum products or any related process. We are at the mercy of Earth's ever changing makeup: volcanoes, tectonic movement (earthquakes) geothermal zones (geysers and naturally occurring hot/warm lakes/ponds/zones) and a lot of liberals hot venting gases. The ocean floors have many more volcanoes than the exposed land mass. Just take a look around and you will see the results of Earth's distant violent past. There's nothing we can do but live with it. The same thing is true with the so called "climate change". The changes we have are naturally occurring and, yes, cyclic. The Earth/Sun relative positioning, the Sun's ever changing energy output and our own Earth's changing molten core is the cause. We can't control those events no matter how much human energy or money we throw at it. Yes, we can monitor the events the best we can and maybe panic, but in the end all we can do is wait.
