Labels are good when they fit. When the hypebole does not match the facts, then you have a case to make. I do not feel though that my statements are hyperbolic but truth. I like to post but I don’t have time between my researching. It is why I try to be brief. I am always miffed at the people who try to change everything where they live instead of moving to where the way of life exists that pleases them most. If I lived in NYC I would fly like the wind out of it. Just think how wonderful this world could be if people respected others enough to allow them to live in the areas with the values they have in common.

Replying down here due to Disqus once again acting up and not offering me the opportunity to reply directly to your message. Ultimately, the Satan/God thing is objective; while I stated before that good messages abound in the Bible, I don’t perceive any supernatural essence here on Earth that dictates the way I live my life. I do not fear a God or a Hell, so my desire to help people and desire to educate myself and desire to educate others stems solely from seeing the interested looks, the smiles, and the appreciation. That gives me more satisfaction than the thought of an otherworldly kingdom; there’s no concern of that kind of reward and I feel more free because of that. Your results may vary; which is part of what makes this country great. That we have the potential to get along and put our heads together. Admittedly, the whole evil Liberal act is unreasonable; it’s supposed to be. Because hyperbole directed in the direction of anyone is unreasonable. So, I absorb it and I put up the front in the hopes that SOMEONE will post something reasonable. After one or two instances of you using hyperbole in response to me using it against myself, I feel as though you’ve actually tried having a legitimate discussion. Of course I don’t expect to change your mind; that’s not the purpose of the debate in general. The purpose is for anyone reading to see what’s being presented and make an opinion based on that. Swaying the opinion of the opponent is an exercise in futility. The Founding Fathers’ motivations came from numerous sources; reading anything about them indicates that faith, philosophy, and historical incidents informed their opinions on the system of governance they wanted to create. Discounting any of that would be a huge error. Misguided? Is that because I’m a self-styled Liberal/Progressive? Or is it because of the opinions I have? I can understand being judged or called out for my opinions; that’s part of standing up for what you believe in. Being able to adequately voice what you think and feel is incredibly important. However, if you’re judging solely based on labels, then there’s nothing for us to talk about.

You are reasonable only in your own opinion. But God grants us freedom to believe what we wish in life and there is no utopia until Jesus comes again. Satan still reigns on this earth and every human heart has the potential of terrible evils. That is why our founding fathers developed a system that would provide checks and balances against totalitarian dictator wannabe’s who would use the power of govt. to enslave it’s citizens. I do not think youn are a monster. At least not yet. I do believe however that you are misguided, which is the only reason I continued this debate this long. If I thought you were without chance reaching, I would have dropped the conversation long ago.

And I agree with you whole-heartedly! Everything is clearly delineated into two seperate stratum: Good goes over here and bad goes over there and never the two shall meet. Moral absolutism is VERY clear and present in the world today because none could have a disagreement about what is clearly moral and what is clearly immoral. That’s what black and white means, my friend. It means that you can clearly see both sides with no gray area in between, but perspective doesn’t dictate as it would in moral relativism. Rather, it’s based on natural law; God’s law. Frankly, the Bible is a fabulous source of inspiration and strength, but I don’t believe that it could cure all of society’s woes today. And, as expected, hyperbole abounds! You won’t be hard-pressed to find some far-Left wackadoos who want to take your guns, nor would you be hard-pressed to find far-Left wackadoos who practice Marxism, and I’m willing to bet that there are a good number of them who also see nothing wrong with killing babies. My personal belief, however, is that the universal background check is a superb idea while the assault weapons ban seems a tad useless. I admire some of Marx’s contributions to Sociology, but beyond that? Meh. And I believe that abortions should be accessible and rare. Call me a radical, but I think that better sex education and more accessible birth control/information regarding contraceptive methods would help significantly. Bah! There I go being reasonable again! Darn! Ultimately, I believe both sides have VERY valid points and ideas, but one needs to wade through a river of crazy in order to access them. And I’m not offended. It takes an awful lot of to offend me. Also, I apologize for being so disappointingly agreeable! What I meant to say was: I’m a Liberal monster who wants to disarm the population and give animals the right to file lawsuits against human beings!

The world is really black and white. The secret is separating the two. Nobody has the wisdom to do it all the time but the Bible, properly understood cures about 90% of the way even if you doubt it.
As for the name calling,we call them gun grabbers because they want to take the guns away from citizens. We call you Marxist’s because liberals follow the tennets of Marx in the redistribution of wealth scheme. We call you baby killers because you are supporting the killing babies. If you are offended by those terms then stop killing babies and supporting it, stop practicing socialism and backing it. Stop trying to disarm the citizens and stop supporting those who want to and maybe you won’t be called those accurate terms.

Oh good! At least now they’re in the know about our evil ways and they can make an informed decision! It really is black and white. Conservatives are good, Liberals are evil and things are just so much simpler when you break it down that way. I do appreciate simplicity. I could argue; I could participate in discourse, but I know exactly what will happen! I’ll present a rational, thoughtful argument on behalf of Liberalism and will be crucified; figuratively speaking. I’ve seen it COUNTLESS times lurking around here. Sure, there are a handful of completely imbecilic Liberals who strut out here and try to use their own hyperbole to counter yours and I’ve seen them too. They don’t do much to encourage a spirit of bipartisanship at all. Personally? I’m well aware that no matter WHAT I say, your reaction will be the same: Hyperbole and accusations that I’m [Insert Favored Progressive Insult Here, ie Baby-Killer, Marxist, Gun-Grabber]. So, instead, I’m going to assume the role of a faceless, evil Liberal and just own the titles! As to your other statement: Are you SURE that you don’t want to go to Independence? I mean, it’s still a ways off, but it’ll be better than the FEMA camps. Come on, I’m trying to help you out here.
