Please, please, please do not use ‘racist’ terminology regarding Weaver’s beliefs.
He was NOT a white supremacist, he was a separatist. Two very different ideologies.
Separatists separate themselves to more purely live their belief systems, which in their
case was Christianity. Separatists do not look down on any race, they just believe they
should separate because of their different beliefs so as to not become ‘tainted’ by the worldly morals and lack of spiritual integrity. Had something to do with how Bob Jones believed the Christian life should be lived out (he of the Bob Jones University). So please make this correction as it paints him as being a less moral person than he was. (on the radio program played on Saturday’s ‘repeat’ show)

I think Glen has a few of the facts wrong about Randy Weaver, though I will admit I could be wrong as well. Weaver was not part of the Aryan Nation, but knew people in the group. The government approached Weaver, and asked him to infiltrate the Nation. Weaver repeatedly refused. I believe the government then solicited a petty criminal to approach Randy and asked Randy to saw off the barrels of the shotguns. The guns weren’t Weavers. Randy declined, several time. Finally Randy agreed to do it, because he was hurting for money, and like Glenn said, he sawed them off to just under what the law allowed. So, the government approached Randy and said, we have you now, you have to infiltrate the group or your going to jail. Here is where the false summons was sent to Weaver with the mixed up dates and the rest is history. Weaver wasn’t willing to do the governments dirty work. Glen also left out another part of the story. Not only did Weaver beat all the charges, he suit the government for wrongful death of his wife and son and he won the suit. No amount was ever disclosed. Another small point, Randy’s 14 year old son was shot in the back as he ran back toward the house. Years later they proved the bullet actually came from the Sheriff’s gun. Weaver’s wife was shot in the head by a trained sniper while she held her baby. It’s wasn’t a shot that missed Weaver. And one last point, the sniper was awarded a medal for his fine service. Look it up!

You may not believe in God, Matt, but you must believe in life after death if you think that those of us who believe in God will have regrets “after our screen goes black”. You seem confused. Y’see, if there is no God we have nothing to lose, ‘cuz we won’t be conscious of anything. But what if there is a God, and you’re wrong? What’ll that mean for atheists like you, Matt? Hell? Ouch!! You should hedge your bets a little and have some respect for the complexity of life, demur a little about the intricate rhythms of life and consider that there’s more to all this than what we see, instead of being so cocksure and arrogant about everything. Remember–nobody likes a smartass, including God.

Frankly I don’t believe anything they are saying. I am just determined not to give up my second ammendment rights period. I don’t want them watered down with any restrictions. I franklyt think that if you are a felon and have served your time and paid your debt to society, upon release, you should be able to arm yourself for your protection. I don’t believe in background checks and I believe you should be able to buy weapons through the mail like we could pre 1968. Is that clear? Frankly you need to understand sarcasm.

I feel extremely for your children sir. I actually work very hard at two jobs. I am saving money away for when I am ready to own a house and have kids. See that is what responisble adults do. I believe I read in a post of yours that you have quite a few children and cannot afford to pay your property tax and now live off government dependence. Your hypocracy is unsettling. I am a responsible American. I do not have children when I cannot provide for them. I do not buy things I cannot afford. I set myself up for a promising career to have the things I want in life. I actually feel very sorry for you and your children. It must be tough for them having a parent who cannot pay for things and who is never home because they are working 18 hour days at low wage jobs. Thats rough.
