Doubt it’s jealousy or bitterness, but it is likely for vain, superficial & monetary reasons: Scarborough clearly wants to be liked & accepted within the mainstream media culture. So he thinks he has to to be a kind of cool, reasonable, moderate Republican . Insulting conservative & Christian icons, like Beck or Rush, gives him cachet, & thus helps him to be accepted. It gives him job security, a fancy studio (Manhattan!) & a big paycheck. He’s saying with disdain: “I’m not one of those types.” But in reality, he’s modeling a Republican who can be convinced to compromise & walk away from his principles again and again and again — just to be well thought of (and laughed at with contempt when he’s not around). He’s certainly not a principled Christian or economically conservative leader: a) who’s willing to start a brawl over his principles, or b) who actually believes and lives by his principles even when it hurts his own self interest.

Beck has been caught, AGAIN, telling another lie. From Mediaite:

Beck claimed, during his speech on the Wash. Mall that he held Washington’s address “in my hands.” That was a lie, and he admitted it later on. However, he had first claimed that ”Our sacred honor. It means that you tell the truth. The whole truth and nothing but the truth.”

Honor? Liars have no honor.
