one of my best friends is a self proclaimed atheist. after he was raised catholic, which is what happens to some of them, I've noticed. I dont mean any disrespect towards you, just wondering. You are not Bibilcally ignorant. you began by citing a few Bible verses. I think that nature, life forms, the universe et al. is evidence enough to support the creationism viewpoint. I agree that there are stories in the Bible that give us pause but..the God of The Bible created the physical world out of love initially. Sequentially, it is after a willful desire to abandon our Creator's boundaries(given for our benefit) that mankind then experiences reprimands, judgement etc. The lost, pagan, sinful heathen who fought Israel thruout the old Testament are physical demonstrations and examples for the current day Christians to learn from. Hence, we are to no more cozy up to sin today, than they were to marry and carouse with lost people then. today, we pray about it. back then they were commanded to eradicate it. it's a fallen world, so to speak.

I don't agree that the God of The Holy Judeo Christian Bible is evil. What do you believe in, on the topic of a higher power or Creationism etc., is concerned?

Because the god of the Bible is evil. What else do you call condemning people to eternal torture because they don't believe?

okay. thanks for supporting your claim. These dictates were given at the outset(from The Lord thru Moses) to provide guidelines to the Jewish people. Tough stuff, certainly. I think the first example you cite is to teach people to be respective of the Sabbath as a Holy day. The second example; the unruly, drunken stubborn jackwagon who cannot/will not fall in line and grow up..kill him seems harsh but I doubt it had to be carried out, much less often. If Johnny in the next tent is a full grown man and has matered the bag-o-wine and nothing else..maybe knocks up some chic, can't support her or the baby etc..sounds familiar doesn't it? he should be reprimanded. I do believe The Bible provides the reader with boundaries to for life, knowing your Creator and the blueprint for salvation, so we can avoid eternal death, pain etc. You're correct in pointing out there are some stories in the old testament, particularly, that are unsettling. But, be careful not to disregard the Bible or a relationship w/your Creator or Jesus Christ as Savior b/c of something you don't like, agree with or understand. Heaven is a bargain at any price. cheers

I imagine it made a pretty big difference to the person who was stoned for working on the wrong day. It also seems to have made a pretty big difference to the God who put it in the 10 Commandments before dishonoring parents, murder, or adultery. As far me, makes no difference what days you work on.

The Sabbath is the day we call Saturday, not Sunday. No one in the Bible was killed for working on Sunday.
