What a strange, illogical position. “I filibustered to get more information, we didn’t get it, so I voted to confirm because the President can appoint whomever he wishes unless they got money from a foreign government.”

Paul has no idea if Hagel got money from a foreign government, and there is significant evidence that he did. I am afraid that his logic fails here, and so does his explanation. I have no doubt that this vote was a political sop to his kook Libertarian followers, who actually like Hagel’s stupid statements and opposition to the Bush surge.

Hagel’s testimony exposed a wildly reckless appointment, and an appointee who is not just dangerously unqualified for the post, but seems remarkably stupid and uninformed. Paul’s vote to confirm is without explanation.

I heard part of obama military cuts that U.S mightl down it’s procurement numbers of F35 joint stealth fighters (lighting) or stop production and development ??? Was this obama hidden agenda of raising our national debt for a excuse to cut our military expenditure for F35 ,lighting jets that we promise to sell to our allies of Great Britain,Canada, Israel etc !! To me if this is true obama using a back door method to break his promise to our allies if we don’t purchase this jets plan numbers for our Marine corp,Navy,Air force,it will greatly increase the production cost to these nations for F35 jets ,because fewer jets produce & purchase !!! It basic put these jets out the price range of our allies or only be able buy so few it won’t help in the defense of their country if this is true it just more obama double talk to our trusted allies setting them up to have a weaker defense !! While obama banning the export of F22 Rapier and Russia ,China ,Iran trying to build their own stealth jets fighters or Iran trying to make purchase of these stealth jets from China and Russia ???? Hey obama it seem every move you make have a hidden agenda to make Israel weaker and be more at risk of attack from other countries and not be able to prevent a nuclear attack from Iran !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glenn you should not have let Rand Paul off the hook on Hagel I sincerely hope you will not support him any more I will not support him he is a blow hard talks a good game then lets us down! We already have seen what Hillary did and I am sure Hagel will do much more bad things, so my support is not going to happen. I have followed you for some years now so if you continue to support Rand Paul I will consider you are not going to make a stand against him. Rubio is a much better choice.

To me our so call con-artist President obama is setting up U.S citizens and the free world for his pre made excuse to weasel out of our commitments to Gulf oil states that are leaning and helpful to the Western world! Plus I believe obama will go back on his word with our most trusted ally Israel in not allowing Iran to attain nuclear weapons !! Our President obama doing this on purpose to run up our national debt so he have a ready made con artists excuse not to honor his promises to U.S citizens and our allies and to give his cohorts Muslims extremist free play in taking over western world nations !! Our President obama excuse line will be that U.S is short of money now ,cannot fund any military actions anywhere in the world so he can weasel out of honoring any U.S commitments or his campaign promises to U.S citizens . Wake up people our President is not for the free western world which include us and in his first president campaign he made the statement that he would side with the Muslims world over the Western free world I think he on his way to honor these words !!! I would not have a problem with a two state solution, IF…. The palastinian goal was not to abliserate the Israeli’s. They say Isreal must be destroyed. Now who in there right mind would say, Okay you have a right to your own country? We as a country MUST NOT turn our back on our friend Israel. Israel gave them Gaza and see how that is working out for Israel, they are under constant bondardment from Palastinian’s. If you are under the misconception, If we just gave them a country of their own and they would stop this crusade, we as a people are not recognizing the root of the problem. We are hated people. Israel and United State are the finfidal. We are the bad guy according to them, there will never be peace in that land. Sorry I still don’t like Rand Pauls explanation on Hagel. If he is going to have the attitude, “if you can’t beat them…join them”. He is know better then anyone else in congress. He admits this guy is the wrong guy for the job of SOD. Yet, as hard as he fought agaist him,,,he caved. That is what everyone else does in politics, I thought he was different?
