In essence, the head of Harvard said not to worry about the cost of education, look at the “intangibles.”  So, it’s ok to go into $250k debt for a $50K job.  This type of economics is exactly why we are moving towards doubling the US debt.  Does this sound like the “best and brightest?”  Would one of these grads help your business?  Do you like the model set by our golfing, Harvard-grad Prez?

Agreed. Some video games are violent for sure, the addiction to them robs children of other more healthy activities like playing outside, of course… but no video game puts you as a character that rapes someone.
I do think that, on a separate issue, violent video games, when introduced too young or to those with “weak minds” (such as a mass shooter), can aid in corrupting the values of an individual. I’m not talking about the 6 year old playing Wii Sports, but the one playing Call of Duty.
But that goes back to the parents and their ability to actually parent their children.

Don’t worry about it we both agree it sounds. As a constitutionalist I believe this is matter of free speech and their for should not be out lawed. People must realize this before they call themselves Constitutionalist. I feel Glenn might get it someday he can be slow sometimes when it comes to things people do in this generation for fun.

It is a slow process. If, 20 years ago, you were to state that gay marriage is acceptable, people would look at you crazy.  Now you have incidents of pedophilia such as the catholic church and man who work for Sesame Street that get some or no media coverage.  To judge sexual deviant acts is looked at as closed minded and people have engrained behavior due to genetics. Remember to be homosexual is genetic, not a willful choice. 

I believe we do. I’m also a Constitutionalist (also a Libertarian) and this is definitely about free speech of content creation, and then of course regulation by parents as to what they allow their kids to participate in. That’s the reason we have the whole rating system for games. 

As a kid, I was more mature and level headed than typical for my age, so my parent had no problem with me playing FPS games, etc. But as you stated, it’s the game developer’s freedom of expression to create the game, and my parent’s right to regulate it within my household.I like Glenn overall, but there are a few issues I disagree with him on – I do hope you’re right about him coming around on this though.

The way you feel about this is the exact same way that white separatists feel about race-mixing.  One day in the future, these beastiality perverts are going to hate you for not accepting them.  They’re going to create a new word and call you humanists, and hate you for it! They poison you with a teaspoon at a time, first getting you to accept a partial animal to mix with, then eventually they easily lead you to accepting a full fledged animal! And believe me, most people will eventually accept this. He came around on the patriot act. Besides he needs to see some of the story lines in some of these video games like the force unleashed. It might not be the greatest they ever did but it has good message behind the games. Games like Medal of Honor and splinter cell. I feel part of it coming from the secular liberal establishment is the fact the life is short, and there’s no afterlife or heave or hell, so feel free to explore every permutation of existence no matter how taboo.   You never know it may feel to have sex with your sister, dog, etc.   To them, we’re just animated pieces of meat with no purpose, so why not do whatever feel good.
