Personally I feel that ALL Gov’t Workers should also be Guards Members, so if they start a war they are the First to go Fight the War they started.  Only if they have already served in the Military should they be exempt!  And like you said they should only get paid Modest Wages, since they are supposedly only in it for the selfless good of the public!!!

One of the things I have always thought should be done is a Requirement that to be Elgible to be the President, they should have served a minimum of six years in the Military.  They should have to risk their lives for the common man/woman before they can Lead them…  Also, this way they would understand personally the consequences of war on the Soldiers that Fight the Wars, and thus reduce the waste of human lives!

We toured the Capitol last year and were allowed to eat in the employee cafeteria. My wife got a lobster roll sandwich that had something like 1/2 pound of fresh daily (flown in lobster) a large drink and a salad for about $11.00 or so. I am sure the staffers will suffer greatly if they receive a small cut in pay…Which by the way will never happen. The Senate and House have created an elite social status for themselves complete with voting for heir own raises. Do you think they will be on the government mandated “Health Plan” ?  Not a chance, they are “special”, a privileged elite class with their own special plan! The founding fathers would never believe what has happened to the system they so carefully put together. I am si9ck of it all!

That is how much out of step Washington is with reality. And to think that it’s mostly people who make way less pay for this nonsense! Where is the outrage, people? Since the Obamacare taxes started being collected in January, my weekly pay is about $100 less than it was last year, and that is even with a 3% raise. Ms Schultz, her staff and the rest of the pirates and thieves in Congress need to be sent back to the real world to see just how hard it is for the people their acts and laws are hurting. And I doubt that they would find a meal anywhere in a public restaurant or cafeteria that would be as cheap as the ones in their subsidized dining room.

I would just add that they should also be required to work for wages or run their own business for at least 6 years to be elegible to run.

Debbie still holds the LPM (lies per minute) record in Congress. If her $100K/Yr staffers can’t feed themselves on that salary, they need to stop frifelous spending and determine what their real NEEDS are instead of what their WANTS are.

And of course, Ms. Schultz and staffers could do like the rest of us and cut back to essentials. May I suggest Obama Soup three times a week. I.E: that’s Ramen noodles with a cup of elbow macaroni added; cooked in twice the amount of water with one hot dog diced into the mix. However, since Obama Care objects to hot dogs, perhaps waving the hot dog over the mix, (or a picture of a hot dog), would suffice. Save the renting of clothes and the gnashing of teeth Ms. Schultz, the sequester could be followed by no agreement on the debt limit.

Ms Shultz and Washington Government Staffers, the rest of the work world brings a lunch to work and occasionally eats out.   Start your week this way, on the weekend make a big dinner you can eat off this for two days if you don’t have starving teenagers in the house.  Take out makings for something in the crock-pot that cooks overnight for the next night dinner and leftovers for lunch.    Next week make a big dinner and throw in some extra stuff in the oven chicken breasts or pork chops to use as lunch items during the week if you are vegetarian or going with meatless Mondays make lentils which can become lentil soup, curried lentils etc 
You serve the people we are not and do not wish to pay for a Zsarist Regime  or French Aristocracy  that can not even imagine how the little people live.
