You will never believe what the Obama Administration wasted your tax dollars for this time. Friday morning, the White House released a video featuring President Obama and Vice President Biden showing off their best moves in support of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign.
— FLOTUS (@FLOTUS) February 28, 2014
According to Politico, the White House embarked on a social media campaign this week to mark the fourth anniversary of Let’s Move. The week kicked off with the First Lady’s appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. She asked Americans to show off their moves on social media, and if enough people got involved, the Mrs. Obama promised the President and Vice President would get in on the act.
In the video, the President and Vice President go for a jog around the White House – outfitted in their workday best dress shoes and ties – before meeting back in the Oval Office for a refreshing glass of water.
If you can stomach it, check out the video below:
“They’ve got access to Steven Spielberg,” Pat said exasperatedly on Pat & Stu. “And this is what comes out of them?”
Not to be outdone by the commander in chief, Pat and Stu decided they too would release an inspiring video in honor of Let’s Move.
“While we sometimes disagree with the policies of the President, we completely agree with the Let’s Move program,” Stu said sarcastically. “And I think it’s time that maybe we put together a little video where we exercise here on the show.”
Using the New York radio studio as their exercise room, this is the cinematic brilliance they came up with:
Many would argue this video is just as, if not more effective than the President’s version. And guess what, America: It didn’t cost you a dime.
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania is known as the famous site for George Washington’s winter camp. Set up in December of 1777, the location was a prime position for protection, with a river on one whole side, and two shallower creeks; forcing attackers to have to go uphill.
Despite the well thought out location, Valley Forge is still known as a time of great suffering for George Washington’s army. Conditions were extremely harsh, and by that spring one out of six men was dead. Yet, despite all of the hardship there was some good. Baron Friedrich von Steuben, a foreign drill sergeant, trained Washington’s troops during their winter at Valley Forge. And while his methods were harsh, there was great improvement; such advancement that the uniformed battle movements and stronger army played a key role in the success of the Continental Army.
If learning about George Washington piqued your interest, you can purchase Glenn’s book Being George Washington HERE. And if you want to bring a piece of history into your home, 1791 Supply & Co. has introduced The George Washington Positioning Life Guard Flag Quilt Kit.
With 13 stars arranged upon a blue background, the George Washington Positioning Flag served as Washington’s headquarters standard and was with him wherever he went. It saw all of the action that Washington saw, and was present at some of the biggest moments in America’s early days.
“I fly this flag at my house,” Glenn told viewers on TheBlaze. The phrase “Life Guard”, which adorns 1791 patches with the flag pattern as well as the quilt kit, represents those “who will stand and preserve the history and the life of what George Washington fought and died for – what he spent his whole life living for.”
Last week, Mike Rowe stopped by TheBlaze’s New York office to talk to Glenn about a myriad of things – chief among them being the controversy that has abounded after Mike lent his vocal chops to a Walmart ad that coincided with Walmart’s initiative to purchase $250 billion of American-made products over the next 10 years. Weeks after the commercial first aired, Mike is still facing a tremendous amount of criticism from those who believed he “sold out” by supporting a giant corporation like Walmart. Mike joined Glenn on radio this morning to discuss the never-ending criticism.
“Mike Rowe is a good friend of the program, a good friend of hard work, a good friend of everybody,” Glenn said. “You know, I’ve never seen anybody work harder to say the right thing but to say it in a peaceful way, in a nice way, not take sides, just not be partisan at all. You’re not. You’ve never said, ‘You know, that Glenn Beck, I agree with him on almost everything.’ Never. Never. And I wouldn’t want you to because I like you kind of being that guy who just says the common sense things. And yet you’re being hammered, hammered.”
Mike attributed at least a fraction of the controversy to some form of ‘cognitive dissonance’ – the idea that when people really, really like something or someone and that something or someone disappoints them, it’s heartbreaking.
“When people you’ve been trained to sort of despise – who are corporations in this case – suddenly do something that you actually really agree with, you’re put in a state of confusion,” Mike explained. “In this case we’re talking about Walmart pledging to put in $250 billion of U.S. manufacturing, basically promising to buy a quarter of a trillion dollars worth of U.S. products over the next 10 years. It’s a very simple promise, but it’s very counterintuitive in a lot of people’s minds to what Walmart has become.”
“So when you’re confronted with that simple set of facts, which you can really reduce to one sentence on a piece of paper, your options are simple,” he continued. “You can affirmatively say that you want to encourage more of that behavior from other big companies, you can look for the fact that you don’t believe in it, and you can work very hard to cynically find the flaw or the conspiracy in the pledge, or you can shoot the messenger. And so these are the choices people are working through and there’s a fair amount of gunplay going on.”
During his appearance on last week’s show, Mike also shared that he and Ford would be parting ways. That has since been interpreted as Ford fired Mike. Since his job prospects are clearly bleak, Glenn offered to do Mike a favor.
“Here’s what I’d like to do. I’d like to offer that we’ll post your resume because I know you’re so desperate for work. You can’t find a job. Nobody will hire you. Nobody wants you to do anything,” Glenn joked. “Here’s how ridiculous this is: I can’t afford to hire Mike Rowe. I’d love to hire Mike. I couldn’t afford to get him to read one line for TheBlaze. But I’ll put your resume out on the page. I can’t make any promises, Mike, but I want you to hold onto hope.”
Ultimately, the fact that this kind of attack is happening to someone like Mike Rowe should be a cause of concern for any freedom-minded American.
“This is really bad. This is freedom of speech, and every American needs to understand Here’s a guy, he’s never said anything about the President, his policies, or anything else. He’s talking common sense,” Glenn concluded. “They take somebody like Mike who’s highly intelligent, very successful, very unique, and very, very public. And if you can crucify him, you scare everybody else down the line. It’s what bullies do.”

Glenn is not exactly a fan of Gawker, but a new report from Gawker’s Adam Weinstein on the growing anti-Semitism in Ukraine is an eye opening must read. Crassly titled, “Are Ukraine’s Jews Screwed,” you are going to have to look past some of the distasteful language to see the larger point, which is: “The news is sounding grimmer and grimmer for Ukraine’s Jewish minority.
“Today I want to tell you a story that is on Gawker. I find Gawker a very – I don’t even read it, quite honestly,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “Somebody sent this to me. I stopped reading it a while back when they were just so vile on many, many things. But I want to read this story to you because I think this is really important.”
Earlier this week, a synagogue in the country’s southeast was firebombed. There have been multiple reported beatings of Jews and acts of vandalism at Kiev synagogues. A leading rabbi in Kiev has called for Jews to leave the city and the country, if possible—though he later said he was stressing that it’s dangerous for everyone out there—and the Israeli embassy has reportedly advised members of the Jewish community to stay off the streets.
The article explains that there is a fascist undertone to the revolution that is as big a threat to Ukrainian stability as the Russian invasion of Crimea. There is a deep-seated history of anti-Semitism in the country that dates back to World War II.
In this atmosphere, plenty of critics are asking: Should the West distance itself from the revolutionaries?
This is not an academic question reserved for uppity web pundits. Anti-Semitism has a long and hoary history in Ukraine. I should know; my Weinstein ancestors supposedly braved pogroms by Cossacks and Tatars for centuries in Kamenetz-Podolsk, a western citadel town, before bugging out in the 19th century—part of numerous waves of Jewish refugees who fled the nation to join the diaspora in Western Europe, the U.S., and eventually, Israel. World War II and the Holocaust are believed to have wiped out two-thirds of those who remained.
But Jewish history in Ukraine is ancient, and not everyone split for greener pastures over the centuries of famine, war, and sectarian hatred. Estimates of how many Jews remain in Ukraine are as various, and probably as reliable, as the arguments over who’s leading the protest movement. One Israeli ministry estimates 250,000 Jews live there, half of whom are in Kiev. The European Jewish Congress says 300,000 to 400,000; the 2012 Annual Jewish Year Book says 67,000; the last Ukrainian census, in 2001, estimated 104,000.
Speaking of the census, here’s a funny quirk of demographics, not just in Ukraine, but in Russia and most of the former Soviet states: They classify “Jew” as a nationality, alongside Russian, Ukrainian, Tatar, Pole, et cetera. The implicit message being: There’s no way to be Ukrainian and Jewish.

Glenn asked his listeners to consider where they stand on the “Jewish question.” Will we be a country that welcomes these people with open arms? Or will we once again reject Jewish immigrants looking to escape persecution and oppression.
“I would just ask you, things are going to get murkier and murkier as time goes on in Europe, and I would ask you again to decide, where do you stand on the Jewish question,” Glenn said. “Will we be a country that will reject Jewish immigrants again? Will we be a country that doesn’t step in and protect? I’m not saying that we step in and fight a war in Israel or anything else, but will we welcome Jewish immigrants into our country? The last time this happened, we did not, and it was really bad. And I’m telling you now that our students, our universities are being turned against the Jews.”

Last night, Glenn, Pat, and Stu ventured out in the frigid New York City weather to see Liam Neeson’s new thriller Non-Stop. All three guys are big fans of Neeson, and the first two thirds of the film did not disappoint. But it all went downhill from there. In fact, the end of the movie is so bad, Glenn felt the need to spoil the plot on radio this morning as to ensure no one else wastes their time or money.
WARNING: Major spoilers ahead.
If you are still planning to see Non-Stop this weekend and do not wish to heed Glenn’s warning, do not watch the video or read the story below. If you would like to save yourself $30 and 2 hours, keep on reading.
“Well, it’s Friday in New York City. I went to see a movie last night, and I was really excited because I thought, ‘I’m going to be able to get on the air today… [and] tell you about a movie that you’re going to love because it is great,’” Glenn said. “It is really great, until you find out that the killer… is a U.S. military guy who believes in the Constitution. Oh, did I just spoil Non-Stop? Oh, I should have said that there was a spoiler alert.”
In case you are unfamiliar with the premise of Non-Stop, here is the IMDB summary of the film:
An air marshal springs into action during a transatlantic flight after receiving a series of text messages that put his fellow passengers at risk unless the airline transfers $150 million into an off-shore account.
As it turns out, the threatening text messages are coming from a former U.S. military member. Much to Glenn’s surprise, even the liberal New York audience groaned when the ‘bad guy’ was revealed.
“Here’s the thing: Even in New York City that got groans,” Glenn said. “Because you’re going through the whole movie, and it’s a good movie… [but] it’s not worth seeing once you know that they made the terrorist ex-military for the U.S… When it’s revealed, the audience in New York City went, ‘Oh, gee.’”
“It doesn’t even make sense,” Pat added. “And even the row of New Yorkers in front of us, I heard complaining about it after. For a second I thought I was in Texas. And I thought, no, wait! We’re in Manhattan!”
Ultimately, Glenn had a very simple message for anyone who was considering seeing Non-Stop this weekend: Don’t do it.
“Don’t see Non-Stop. It’s an insult. It’s an insult to anybody who believes in the Constitution and believes in our military,” Glenn concluded. “I said, ‘I make a promise to you: I will not treat our military the way we treated our Vietnam veterans.’ And we’re doing it now. We’re not taking care of their health, we’re dismissing them when they get back, and now we’re making them into our terrorists at our movies. And it’s the same weasely people that are doing it. Don’t go see Non-Stop.”

The hits just keep on coming for the President’s signature healthcare law. According to the National Review Online, an Arab-American community activist, Rasmieh Yousef Odeh, has been charged with immigration fraud for hiding the fact she was once convicted of a terrorist bombing in Israel. The icing on the cake: Odeh worked briefly as an Obamacare navigator in Illinois.
“Listen to this. This is the most amazing story and you’re not hearing anything about this,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “She was convicted in Israel for the bombings of a supermarket at the British consulate in Jerusalem. She carried that out on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the terrorist organization… She exploded the bombs in the crowded supermarket, killing two students from a Hebrew university and injuring two. But that’s all she did. Well, wait a minute. Hang on. She was also sneaking into our country and unlawfully procuring a U.S. citizenship… And she was an Obamacare navigator.”
The U.S. attorney’s office for the Eastern Division in Michigan announced in October that Rasmieh Yousef Odeh was accused of unlawfully procuring U.S. citizenship after she hid that she “was convicted in Israel for her role in the 1969 bombings of a supermarket and the British Consulate in Jerusalem … carried out on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine,” a terrorist organization.
National Review reported that the Illinois Department of Insurance on Nov. 24 “quietly revoked” Odeh’s certification as an in-person navigator to help people sign up for insurance under President Barack Obama’s signature health care law. The insurance department said in a disciplinary report the decision was “based on an investigation which revealed that she had been convicted in Israel for her role in the bombings of a supermarket and the British Consulate in Jerusalem and failed to reveal the conviction on her application.”
Odeh was sentenced to life in prison in 1970 but was released after 10 years as part of an Israeli prisoner exchange, after which she moved to the West Bank.
According to the U.S. attorney, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1995 and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2004.
You might wonder how something like a terrorism conviction doesn’t come up on any background check. According to an FBI background report for Odeh obtained by National Review, no past criminal offenses were cited. On the Obamacare front, National Review reported that it would have been the responsibility of the Illinois Department of Insurance to conduct the background check on potential navigators.
“We don’t do background checks. We leave that up to the states, the various exchanges. If you want to go ahead and do a background check, go ahead,” Pat said. “So this thing is secure. There’s not a problem with Obamacare in the exchanges and the navigators. Put your whole trust into it because that’s going to work out really well for you.”
“But if you don’t sign up… by the middle of next month, you probably are a terrorist too,” Glenn concluded. “So you’re definitely illegal. Definitely. She’s not illegal, but you’re definitely are illegal.”
On Thursday’s Glenn Beck Program, Glenn sat down with Ruth Graham, the daughter of Reverend Billy Graham, for a wide-ranging interview on life, lessons, and her dad. Glenn has gotten to know Ruth very well over the last couple of years, and when Glenn attended Rev. Graham’s 95th birthday party last fall, he and Tania were seated at Ruth’s table. “I feel as though I’ve known her my whole life,” Glenn said to open the show. And over the course of the next hour, Glenn and Ruth dove deep into her personal journey and her father’s legacy.
Glenn asked Ruth if she would be willing to talk about her three marriages and divorces because people might be “shocked” to learn Rev. Graham has a daughter who is divorced three times. Ruth spoke about her marriages – which included infidelity and abuse – quite candidly, for those experiences ultimately helped form her life and her faith.
One of the most powerful moments of the interview came when Ruth described what it was like to return home to her parents after fleeing from her second husband who was abusive. Her parent’s had warned her not to marry the man, and she did so anyway. Ruth described her two-day drive back home as she wondered how she would be received. As it turns out, she was received with open arms.
“My father was standing there,” Ruth said. “And when I got out of the car, my father wrapped his arms around me and said ‘Welcome home.'”
It was that grace that changed Ruth’s life forever.
Glenn has been speaking about the importance of finding unifying principles in order to bring people together. Unfortunately, that is much easier said than done. Glenn wondered how to go about sharing and spreading truth in a way that is not divisive or alienating but inclusive and loving. “It’s about how we speak the truth,” Ruth said. And we as a people must learn to “accept people where they are and love them to the next step” as Jesus did in order to achieve that unity and peace.
In the last couple of weeks, Rev. Graham’s condition has deteriorated and improved several times, and it is unclear how much time he has left. Ruth and her siblings have come to terms with the fact that each time they see their father it may very well be the last, but she is actually quite excited for her father to return home to God.
Ruth explained that when he mother passed away, she was sorting through some of her things with her sister. At one point, they entered there father’s room and in that moment realized he had no earthly possessions of real value.
“My sister looks at me and says, ‘The man of God doesn’t care about the things of the world,'” Ruth said of that moment. “I said, ‘You know, that is right,’ and I hope that will be said of me at some point. The worldly things are not what is important. It was the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our father gave his life for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That will be his legacy – change lives”
It is that peace of mind that allows Ruth to look at the end of her father’s life with great joy. She believes his arrival in heaven will be a great celebration of the life he lived.
“He wants to hear ‘well done,'” Ruth said of what will happen when he father comes face to face with God. “And he will.”
Glenn is wrapping up his two week visit to New York City, and he’s capping it off with a photo shoot with his friend George Lange. You’ll be seeing photos soon on GlennBeck.com, but we wanted to give you a backstage look at what went down this afternoon.
There was a remarkable moment during a congressional hearing on Wednesday when constitutional law expert and self-proclaimed Obama supporter, Jonathan Turley, explained the legislative branch of the U.S. government is in danger of becoming irrelevant because of persistant executive overreach. Turley, who is a professor of public interest law at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., believes America has reached a “constitutional tipping point” under President Obama’s watch.
“This is, I think, the most important… moment of audio… in the last I don’t even know how many years. This is the American crisis… This is beyond the constitutional crisis. This is a constitutional tipping point,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “This happened yesterday in the House Judiciary Committee… Jonathan Turley is a liberal… He’s a guy who’s on the left, is a support of the President, says in his testimony, ‘Look, I agree with what [the President is] trying to do. Just not how he is doing it.’ And I want you to listen because what he’s saying is: If we don’t wake up right now, we will be very sorry.”
Listen to Turley’s remarks below:
“Listen to what he said: I don’t agree with Saul Alinsky that the ends justify the means. The ends I agree with. The means are wrong. And then he says it is dangerous. It is dangerous because we are now changing our system,” Glenn said. “Wake up people who understand freedom! Wake up! Do you hear what is being planted now? This is a liberal who is saying, ‘Wake up! Danger. Nobody is standing up against this.’”
Turley admits President Obama has overstepped his bounds. In the case of any other president that would grounds for serious ramifications or even impeachment. But that Congress is simply not taking action. Ultimately, Pat believes Turley has proved himself to be a true patriot for raising the red flag.
“How interesting is it. This is a true patriot here. I don’t care what you think of his politics; he’s a true patriot. And he’s saying, ‘Hey, you guys, wake up. Take back what is yours, what belongs to you, and fight.’” Pat explained. “And when everybody else on the left is yelling at the House of Representatives as the ones who are holding everything up, who are stopping, standing in the way of progress. He’s telling them you’re not doing enough. Get off your butts and do something here to save the country. Wow. He gets it.”
