According to the website Mic.com, President Barack Obama considers media to be the central focus of his next chapter, remaining actively engaged, inspiring young people interested in changing the way people consume media and information.
Rolling Stone magazine quoted the president as saying:
And then I'm going to start organizing my presidential center. The center is going to be focused on the next generation of leadership, which involves the question: How do we rethink our storytelling? How do we rethink the messaging and the use of technology and digital media so we can make a persuasive case across the country?
"Let's watch the media celebrate this president if he does half of what Donald Trump was most likely going to do if he lost the presidency. Let's see them speak out of both sides of their mouth, yet again," Glenn said.

GLENN: What is the president's plan after? Now, remember, all the media could talk about for how long is how Donald Trump was going to start his own television -- and what is this going to mean for Donald Trump? How is he going to be able to impact the country? And it was a devastating thing. Remember?
Horrible.
From Rolling Stone, quote, from the president of the United States, "Well, I'm going to take a long nap and a vacation."
Yeah, I know. He hasn't had a vacation for a while.
JEFFY: Right.
GLENN: "And then I'm going to start organizing my presidential center. The center is going to be focused on the next generation of leadership, which involves the question: How do we rethink our storytelling? How do we rethink the messaging and the use of technology and digital media so we can make a persuasive case across the country?" End quote.
Speculation is that while he won't be starting a traditional media company, he is going to get into the media. And here's one. This is from Mic.com. M-I-C.
Obama considers media to be the central focus of his next chapter. We believe, although we can't tell you exactly what form it will take, it will be something along the lines of a show streaming on Netflix, a web series of a comedy site or something. It remains unclear.
He has discussed launching his own media company, but he has cooled on the idea while of late. He will remain actively engaged, inspiring young people interested in changing the way people consume media and information.
STU: To be clear, this is not the president-elect we're talking about. We're talking about the president, Barack Obama.
GLENN: We're talking about Barack Obama. Now, let's watch the media celebrate this president --
STU: Yeah.
JEFFY: Oh, my gosh.
GLENN: -- if he does half of what Donald Trump was most likely going to do if he lost the presidency. Let's see them speak out of both sides of their mouth, yet again.
