On Today's Program
Planet in Peril
Anderson Cooper weathered an
interview with Glenn on the
subject of his coming
documentary Planet in Peril
which seeks practical solutions
to some of the worlds growing
environmental issues.
Considering Glenn's status in
the global warming community,
this interview could have gone
sour. Fortunately, Anderson is
not only a fantastic
journalist--he's very
personable, can deal with
differing opinions and has a
surprising sense of humor. But
can he make Glenn go green?

Sanity in Peril
Our planet may or may not be in
peril, that's debatable.
Madison, Wisconsin has something
else in peril---their sanity.
The governor and legislative
leaders reached an agreement on
a two-year budget with a deal
that increases the tax on
cigarettes by a dollar a pack.
That way they can help more kids
have healthcare. However, they
also have spent some of that
money on trying to get people to
stop smoking. Glenn is not a
legislative leader, but he is a
thinker---how are you going to
pay for the new health insurance
if people stop smoking? Leave it
to people in Madison,
Wisconsin--how about some mental
healthcare?
Old CRAG
Jaqueline Sheedy, who is a
member of the Carbon Rationing
Action Group (CRAG), is trying
her best to shrink her carbon
footprint. Sheedy lives like any
normal human being does----any
normal human being from, say,
the 4th century that is. She
lives on the coal barge that
she's turned it into a shrine
for energy efficiency. Okay, how
about this? She also reads by
candlelight. And if that's not
enough for you to go green, she
turns her own human waste into
fertilizer and she goes and she
gets her water and puts it into
a little bin on the back of her
bicycle. However, wait until you
hear what the group said when
she wanted to go on a vacation .

Rush to judge
We all know the mainstream media
slants liberal. Perhaps that's
why they ignore Rush Limbaugh.
On Friday, Rush had the largest
ebay charity auction item EVER,
and the mainstream media
completely avoided the story.
Senator Harry Reid tried
(unsuccessfully) to save face on
Friday by applauding Rush for
doing something positive,
apparently not noticing that the
smear letter he wrote himself
stirred up so much disgust that
it generated a winning bid of
$2.1 million dollars. Glenn took
a closer look at just how
ridiculous it is that Rush
(along with other radio talk
shows) is ignored by the media.
Perhaps it's audience
envy---Time, Newsweek, US News
and World Report---these and
more publications, such as the
New York Times, combined don't
surpass Rush's audience alone.
But the real people getting the
shaft are you, the listener.
Glenn explains . . .
