Key Principle #1 -Lower Prices without Lower Costs = Losses
  • Concepts: The Free Lunch Paradigm – there is no such thing!
    • The Healthcare Hurricane – an entitlement storm on the horizon

  • Watch For: Promises of FREE – someone always has to pay!

Key Principle #2 - Governments do not Create Wealth – They Transfer Wealth

  • Concepts: The Business Cycle
    • Governments do not earn revenue, they assess revenue
    • Who really pays taxes in America?

  • Watch For: Government promises to do better with you money than you can
    • Any appeal to “patriotism” to pay more taxes

Key Principle #3 - Governments Create Black Markets – they then regulate

  • Concepts: Government intervention – a boulder placed in the middle of the stream
    • Unintended consequences of Ceilings, Floors, Taxes, Tariffs, and Quotas

  • Watch For: Promises of “Fairness” and “Efficiency” put power in fewer hands
    • Corruption and patronage
