GLENN: 888-727-BECK, 888-727-BECK. Let’s go to Brad Pelo who is one of the head honchos at Stadium of Fire which is the best Fourth of July celebration bar none in the United States. It is absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. It is a whole week of a celebration of America that is unlike anything else anywhere in America, and I am proud. Brad, is this my third year hosting?

PELO: Yes, Glenn, your third year and we’re pleased to have you back. You are a great addition to the show and a gracious host.

GLENN: The Stadium of Fire last year was crazy. It sold out in, what, twelve minutes?

PELO: Twelve minutes, yeah.

GLENN: Yesterday I said trust me, go buy your tickets, you’ve got until midnight to do them, you can buy them in advance because at midnight they shut down and then they go back on sale on Monday. And I said, buy them today — this was yesterday. Buy them today because tomorrow when I tell you who’s coming, your kids are going to claw your eyes out for them. And you want to make the announcement?

PELO: I’d love to, Glenn. Last year as you mentioned, we were proud to not only host you but other great performers. We had Miley Cyrus and the Blue Man Group, the cast on several thousand on the field at the time. It was just a great, wonderful, patriotic and entertaining celebration. This year we’re going to return it bigger and better than ever and we’re announcing today the headline act which this year will be the Jonas Brothers, Kevin, Nick, and Joe Jonas who of recent fame are a great pop group, like Miley, appealing to a family audience and we’re pleased that they have accepted our invitation this year. They recently released their Jonas Brothers 3-D concert experience which is in theatres right now.

GLENN: I have the glasses on right now.

PELO: You don’t need the glasses when you come out here. It will be the real deal.

GLENN: Yeah, all right. Good. And so the tickets go on sale when, Brad?

PELO: Tickets will be on sale Friday, which will be 5:00 Mountain time.

GLENN: 5:00 p.m.?

PELO: 5:00 p.m., yes, 5:00 p.m. Mountain time. BYUtickets.com. That’s BYUtickets.com or you can go to stadiumoffire.com to get more information about the show and location. We hope many of your listeners from across the country will come and be a part of, like you say, the greatest American celebration.

GLENN: It really is. Brad, what is the thing on Sunday that I hosted or that I spoke at last year?

PELO: We call it a patriotic service. It’s a Sunday service and it’s attended by roughly 20,000 people on a Sunday evening.

GLENN: And it was free, right?

PELO: Yes.

GLENN: Was that a free event?

PELO: It’s a free event, open to the public.

GLENN: I have to tell you, who do you have speaking there this year? Do you know yet?

PELO: You know, we have not announced the speaker yet, but –

GLENN: It is — America, I’m telling you, it is — it was one of — I’m going to tear up just talking about it. It was one of the greatest things I have ever been a part of. It was, I have never felt the love of this country as much as I did that week in Provo, Utah. I mean, Fourth of July is the way, I truly believe the way our founders would have intended it. It is a different — I’ve been to all of the big ones. I’ve been all over the United States and been to all of the big Fourth of Julys. My family, we always went to a different city every year. We always, that was a big tradition for us. It has been the Stadium of Fire for the last three, and the whole week is amazing. The parade is gigantic. It’s the largest parade in the country for Fourth of July. I believe it’s the longest running parade, isn’t it?

PELO: I –

GLENN: Maybe not. It’s one of them.

PELO: I don’t know about that but it is the largest parade. Over a quarter million people line up for this parade, line up days in advance to be there.

GLENN: It’s unbelievable. Brad, thank you very much. Oh, wait, wait, can you — I don’t want to say what it is and I’m not asking you to do that. You told me a little bit what you had planned for the finale. Do you know, when are you going to know if you are going to be able to pull that off?

PELO: Well, all the elements of the show are in flux literally until the day of. If you remember last year we had a very special moment planned for the finale and because of technical difficulties we weren’t able to pull it off. So we don’t ever really describe the content of the show. We leave it to the end. And you might have somebody to get excited beforehand but not the public.

GLENN: Thanks, Brad, I appreciate it. It’s 5:00 p.m. Mountain time, you will not regret taking your family there. Thanks, Brad, and we’ll see you there this year.

PELO: Thanks, Glenn.

GLENN: You bet. The finale, if they can — and I don’t even know. And like he said, we had a really great one last year but at the last minute there was a — it was this gigantic silhouette thing that they had hundreds of performers that had rehearsed and rehearsed and rehearsed and they had to go behind this giant screen and it was going to be shadowed up on there. It was so cool and so moving. It was in the middle of the dark with just the fireworks behind it and then the shadow thing of the founding of America. It was unbelievable. And at the last minute the curtain tore and I was standing there and here comes the music and the orchestra’s going and everything, and the curtain tore and they had to — all the performers were ready and they had to cancel that at the last minute and just, they just said the lines as the fireworks were going off and it was really, it was — the audience didn’t know but it was quite a disappointment. This year I will tell you that there won’t be a dry eye — look at me. Just describing in my own head what they are going to try to pull off, I have never seen this done before and if they can pull it off — I don’t know if they can, but if they can pull it off, there won’t be a dry eye in the house. Won’t be a dry eye in the house. And you’ve never seen anything like it. Never seen anything like it. It’s the Stadium of Fire. It is fantastic for the family. Come and join my family this Fourth of July.
