To blindly trust should be reserved for those in love. It is sad to see so many blindly following any politician. There are many I highly respect and some I would not trust watching a rock. By no means do I love any politician. It seems that many of these followers of the great leader love him. There is no objectivity when blinded by love. To even speak against their leader or their cause always gets responded back with a cry of hate and distrust. There is no discussion allowed when one does not agree with the following. It is very hard to bring things to light to a closed mind. Discussion is not allowed, fall in line or be berated.

There is no such thing as Democratic socialism. That term is exactly what the former Soviet Union used to describe Communism. Spreading the wealth implies redistribution of public resources that have been ill gotten. No matter how you say it, it is not what you have been brainwashed into believing by the public school system. A society that uses a democratic approach to socialism are consuming a potent narcotic designed to pacify the people into giving up power to those who always, always, try to lull them into acceptance of what rightfully belongs to others in order to consolidate power in those who are of the ruling class; a veritable nomenclatura reminiscent of the bad old days of the Cold War. There is no greater power possessed by a government than the power to tax. Through that power, the government can enforce policy without war, destroying the ability of the other side to fight through continuous punishment. Those government policies at work today have resulted in exactly what was experienced by the Romans, Spartans, Athenians and other cultures. When the populace realized that they could vote themselves personal largesse from the government treasury, eventually, those who contribute to society by those who take. The more that is given, the more strident the demands of the entitled. Eventually, they arrived at the same, sad state in which we find ourselves now. At what point is it enough? Most who experienced the ravages of the recent storms believe that the government is responsible for restoring them to their former state in life, not just public works and land, but also personal losses. They aren't, for the most part, asking for help, they are demanding help, somehow believing that their failure to pay for flood insurance (also a government subsidized program) means that it is up to the rest of us to pay for what they will not and cannot after the fact. The economy has been destroyed by deficits that are now multiplying faster than any ability to pay back what has been borrowed. Soon, we will enter a time in which, no matter how much is collected from ALL strata of society, there will simply be no hope of ever balancing a budget and going backward to become fiscally responsible. The Democrats won. Bully for them. Now, they enjoy a time period in which the foolish will watch while Nerobama fiddles, all the while calling him the true savior of mankind, even as those policies destroy the businesses that provide jobs that are the true answer to the intake of revenue. Now, somehow, the moronic believe that there is no American dream and that anyone who succeeds got there by theft, thus justifying "spreading the wealth". Why bother providing jobs and risking everything on business when you know that you are despised for having risen above poverty, only to be told that the truly noble are those who contribute nothing, while being condemned as a thief? The Soviets found out, the Eastern Europeans found out....you can only enforce "democratic socialism" at the point of a gun through fascism.

James, I don't even know where to start, but you write at the level of a 12-yr-old. You have mental issues that haven't been adequately addressed. Get help.

After accusing the US Army of being communist, McCarthy was finally censured by the Republican lead Senate for "conduct that tends to bring the Senate into dishonor and disrepute." He was officially censured on December 2, 1954, by a vote of 67 to 22, making him one of the few senators ever to be disciplined in this fashion.

Ike Eisenhower called Joseph McCarthy "a pimple on the path of progress" . He also wrote this about him: "It is a sad commentary on our government when such a manifestly useless and spurious thing can divert our attention from all the constructive work in which we could and should be engaged." Ike also defended himself from Stevenson's criticism in the letter, writing, "[I have not] acquiesced in, or by any means approve, the methods that McCarthy uses in his investigatory process. I despise them."

The Left-wingers are a destructive lot. They will not listen to any corrections because they are too tied to their ideology of Statism.

But good luck to you. Let's continue to inform people of the truth about liberty and the malevolence of Leftists and their Statism.

That's how he was painted by the left at the time. Just like they have denigrated every Conservative since then. Saul Alinsky would be very proud of his entire adopted family. The difference now is, we are on to you. Wikipedia, seriously?

I had to use your space to respond to mrmotto. I am not certain if some are here for the purpose of deception or are just ignorant of our history. In either case, They will get corrected.

No, it's a reality that's come to fruition. It isn't a Republican or Democrat thing and it should worry everyone, including you. Of course that's unless you work for someone wanting communism and are here to help the cause. Are you? Communism is a serious thing and you should not make light of it. Research the affect and what it does to free people. It isn't pretty.
