Total freedom? So no taxes? No speed limits? No drug laws? No nothing? Um the slope is slippery both ways my friend. The world is not as black & white as the political parties would like us to believe. There is LOTS of grey. All or nothing thinking from both sides doesn't encourage individuality in my opinion. It breeds good little automatons with no minds of their own.

Banning? No. But I am all for putting a tax on soda to pay for the burden fat Americans who guzzle garbage can sized cups of soda at movie theatres put on our health care system. Yes sir-ree. Have you looked around at America lately? We are becoming an insanely obese gluttonously sick society.

Stu, your love of soda is awesome, especially in a world that bought into the "soda is bad" BS. Water, bubbles, spices, flavors, and sugar... are "bad"? Jesus, man. The human race is so asleep it's downright eye-popping.

Anyway Stu, healthier soda, especially coke, is something I've been holding in mind for some time now. It's amazing that Coke still hasn't woken up to this. You can put fructose (fruit sugar, does not create the negative insulin response) or xyltol to sweeten it, or better yet, let me have Coke syrup all by itself without aspartame or sugar in it, and I'll just deal with adding whatever I want to add to it later on. Maybe I'd prefer half the sweetness, or sometimes no sweetness at all depending on my mood.

Why don't they make Vitamin Coke? Are they so asleep they still haven't *thought* about this?

Why do they still use tap water when they could sell me a some carbonated Fiji Coke w/Vitamins in it?

It's the same BS with tobacco. As soon as the world buys into "it's evil", it's hard to get an industry to wake up and get off the guilt-trip. The unconscious guilt that they have about their product just slows down their progress immensely. Try getting a decent organic tobacco, it's not easy.

The things I love, some of which grew this country to be as great as it was/is, such as Coke and tobacco, have such a bad image it's absurd. I've been smoking and drinking nothing but Coke for the last 25 years and my teeth are fine, and the last time a doctor checked my lungs out he said that there's no way I could be a smoker because they're perfect. He then brought in a bunch of nursing students because he wanted to show them an example of perfect lungs, still refusing to believe me when I said I'm a happy smoker.

What makes people unhealthy is not Coke and smoke, it's non-love. It's the stubborn refusal to love that makes people ill. Those who know compassion are not so easily fooled into thinking soda is evil. The purpose of soda is it's supposed to bring joy, not guilt. By their love of soda ye shall know them. :)

So you agree? Drink free or die, right?
The question actually does say he's banning sodas. That is sickening and most people are against that nanny statism.
