BBC caves to demands of one global warming activist

On Today's Program

BBC caves to activist

Noel Sheppard from Newsbusters first commented on a story run by the BBC on Global Warming because he couldn't believe they actually reported on the fact that 2008 was going to be cooler than 2007. Shockingly, a couple of hours later, the headline of the story had been drastically changed. What caused the sudden shift in reporting? Was it a factual error? Nope---it was a couple of emails from a global warming activist begging and pleading (and threatening) the reporter to change the story. It took a whopping 3 emails and a laborious hour and a half---but all the hard work paid off for the activist and the story was changed. Read the amazing details of the changes Newsbusters is reporting. Read Glenn's commentary on the story here, Insiders listen to the audio here.

Heston passes

Charlton Heston passed away at the age of 84 over the weekend. Heston is well known for his role as Moses in 'The Ten Commandments' and his advocacy for the Second Amendment--which included being President of the NRA from 1998-2003. As Glenn said in this interview with Wayne Lapierre, 'they just don't make them like Heston anymore'. Wayne shares some of his memorable stories of Heston during todays interview with Glenn. Read the transcript here. Insiders listen to the interview here.

Offensive Obit: Glenn noticed a peculiar 'but' in Heston's obituary. When commenting that Heston had marched with Dr. King, they augmented that with 'but then his policits veered right'. So Heston marched with Dr. King---BUT then he switched to the side that hates minorities. What does that 'but' mean exactly? Read it and decide for yourself.

Another Clinton fib

Hillary Clinton told an amazing story about how a young, pregnant waitress needed emergency help but was turned away because she didn't have $100 to pay the big bad evil hospital. The woman later died. The only thing that would have made this story worse is if it were accurate. The dad of the deceased young woman saw Hillary using the story and said 'my daughter had health insurance---not sure what she's talking about'. Ooopsie. Read the transcript here, Insiders listen to the Hillary fib here.

Secret Life: Siegfried and Roy

No one really wants to know the details of the secret lives of Siegfried and Roy----but Glenn couldn't help reading this bizarre story that gave a glimpse into what the duo does when one of their animal friends die. Read the lunacy here, listen to the audio here.

Tonight on TV

Makers of Absolut vodka mix up a storm of a controversy over a billboard and magazine ad they ran in Mexico City. Some say the ad was gag, but the point is it's no joke! Glenn weighs in tonight, 7pm ET only on Headline News.
