Traveling with Glenn…

On Today’s Program

Glenn on Tour

Glenn is out on the road, doing his best to leave the biggest possible carbon footprint in his wake. Private jets, more steaks eaten than you can possibly imagine, and TVs and lights purposefully left on in the hotel rooms as he leaves to do the show. Check out Glenn’s Tour Blog to inspect every step he’s taking on this monumental non-environmentally friendly journey.

Idle time

The geniuses in Minneapolis government have decided that you cannot let your car idle for more than 3 minutes. This prompts Glenn to say that he’d ‘hang himself’ if he lived there. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the new and improved carbon credit/conservation society that is the United States of America. Don’t let your car idle for too long, or the Car Idle Police Task Force will hunt you down and do what they do best—stop serial idlers. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here).

Open house

Some alarm bells should go off when you are attending an open house and they have included free booze in order to get you to show up. Maybe, just maybe, there is something fatally wrong with this house. Rest assured that the realtor has loan docs on site—just in case someone happens to feel like an impulse buy that day. Glenn runs down some of the bizarre things that realtors are doing in this difficult housing market in order to get people out to open houses. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here).

The Forgotten Man-ifesto

Amity Schlaes, author of The Forgotten Man, a book Glenn says is a must read for all Americans, joined Glenn to talk about the paperback edition of the book. Amity is trying to get her book taught in the classroom, Glenn thinks that will be quite the mountain to climb. There are new essays in the book and Glenn talked with Amity about the new material on this morning’s program. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here).

Pepsi Blue?

When there is a new soda out on the market, it’s a safe bet to assume Stu Burguiere has tried it. This one is for all of the soda connoisseurs out there: Mountain Dew’s ‘Voltage’. Read the blog.
