On Today's Program
The list
So why IS gas so darn expensive? There are a lot of reasons, but somehow the biggest problem (as usual) points directly to Washington DC. Democrats yesterday in a subcommittee voted basically to kill going to the outer continental shelf to drill for oil because there are 'other things we can do'. Glenn would like to introduce you to the people who are preventing us from drilling here at home, because, as Glenn says, these people should be famous. When the pitchforks and torches start coming out---we'd like to help clarify who was for or against us. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here).

America's toughest Sheriff
No nonsense Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County (Phoenix, AZ.), infamous for his Tent City jail, pink handcuffs and boxers for prisoners, and hardline approach to illegal immigration, has a new book out called Joe's Law: America's Toughest Sheriff Takes on Illegal Immigration, Drugs and Everything Else That Threatens America . Joe joined the program today to talk about what he is doing in the fight against illegal immigration, and why he isn't the biggest fan of John McCain. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here).
Florence Monster
Doug Preston is the author of many best selling books and his newest is The Monster of Florence. It's a real life story of a serial killer in Italy and one of the most brutal murderers of all time who killed people in the Tuscan hills for 11 years, and was the inspiration for the movie character Hannibal Lector. When Doug moved his family to Italy, he heard about the story and hooked up with a local journalist and they began writing about him and trying to crack the case. The next thing Doug knew, he was a suspect. Read the transcript. (Insiders listen here).
Here's a bailout
Ed McMahon's a nice guy and everything, but should you really feel bad for someone who's getting foreclosed on a home that's over $4 million? It's called living above your means---no one should get bailouts because they had difficulties with a calculator. It's the subject of Glenn's latest CNN piece, titled 'Don't feel too bad for Ed McMahon'. Read it here.
