On Today's Program

Man up, it's Father's Day

Often times when we celebrate father's day we think about the times dad was there for us when we were little, like after a fall and a scraped knee. While those can be fond memories of dad, perhaps the focus should be turned more to what dad did to make you the man (or woman, even) you are today. What did he do, day in and day out, that taught you to be a better parent? What did Glenn learn from his dad? 'I didn't learn how to talk to people from my father. I learned that the words you say to another man mean something.' Glenn opens up and tells how he learned lessons like that (among others) and how he is using those lessons to teach his children. Time to drill!

Congressman John Peterson (R-PA) has been leading the charge for the past decade to get the United States on a path to energy independence. A decade ago America was fat and sassy with its $1 per gallon gasoline prices. People at the time warned that taking the steps to secure energy independence was at hand, because in a decade prices will rocket. Politicians were too busy enjoying the low prices to heed the warnings. Ten years later, gas prices are out of control. Now, with clear need to act, what does Congress do? They vote against drilling at home---the simplest thing we can do to help ease our oil importing burden. Congressman Peterson joined Glenn today to talk about what he's been doing to get the bill passed, and what people are doing to stop it from passing. People are stupid. That is something tried and true, battletested time and time again. No matter what time period we have passed or will pass through, there is one common bond that unites the ages. Stupid people. Natural selection has it's watchful eye on them, and gets giddy with anticipation such as this one arises. These dopes, when confronted by a school of sharks at the beach thought it better to get a closer look than to get out of the water. Natural selection didn't 'select' anyone on this day, but it easily could have. Watch the video here.
