Pursuit, not guarantee

Every day in Glenn’s email newsletter we are going to highlight an example of the 9 principles he’s talked about, to show you how they can actually help solve problems and lead to the right solutions. These principles aren’t just talking points – we should all live by them, whether we are in Washington, on Main Street or on Wall Street.  Today we’ll look at principle #6 on the list I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results. Look how far we’ve come – when have Americans ever behaved like this? At times, yesterdays Obama town hall meeting looked like an episode of the Price is Right – get called on and maybe you’ll win a new car! The opposite of Joe the Plumber, who just wanted government out of his w ay, this audience seemed determined to just find out what they could win from Bob Barker, aka Barack Obama.  If people lived by principle #6, would they be doing this? Obama: genius or out of control idiot?

Glenn has watched the events of the last few weeks unfold and some of the moves Obama has been making – like stuffing the spending bill with pork – just looked so insanely stupid. But, is it possible that all of the silly pet pork projects were part of the plan all along? Caller ‘very upset’ with Glenn

Glenn took a call from a guy who was frustrated that Obama is forcing socialism down our throats. The caller then aimed his frustration at Glenn, saying that because he cast ‘shadows’ of doubt on McCain, we have Obama as a result. Glenn explained that McCain would have taken us down the socialism road – only slower. This only enraged the caller and things got a little ugly.  (Transcript, Insider Audio)

 The day the economy almost died

Congressman Paul Kanjorski, the guy who called for the ‘reasonable profits board,’ was on C-SPAN last month talking about the day the economy almost died. There was an electronic run on the banks happening back one day in mid-September to the tune of $550 billion dollars. Kanjorski claims that if they didn’t act like they did, the U.S. economy would have collapsed in hours and in one day the world economy would have collapsed. Was the ‘electronic run’ on the banks orchestrated? (Transcript, Insider Audio)
