Pelosi rushes vote – for Euro vaca

There’s not much else you can say to describe the agonizing events surrounding this craptastic spending bill other than Nancy Pelosi sucks. This time it’s because she rushed the vote on nearly 1,071 page stimulus so she can jet off to Europe. Not only have Democrats already broken their promise to give 48 hours consideration to any major bill – they are about to pass the biggest spending bill in the history of the planet, without even reading it. Glenn crunches the numbers on how fast those voting would have to read the bill in order to finish before the vote and even has his voice digitally sped up to see if it’s possible to finish the bill on time. The results aren’t pretty.  (Transcript, Insider Audio)

>>What does the 1,000+ page stimulus actually look like? Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price took this short video to illustrate the ridiculousness of it all.

We Surround them – applying the principles (#7)

We are taking a look each day at an example of the values and principles in action. Today we are looking at principle #7 –  I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable. Even though Henrietta Hughes begged President Obama for government help, shockingly there was a solution to her problem that existed in the private sector.  First, a complete stranger was paying for her to stay in a hotel – and then State representative Nick Thompson (R) and wife Chene offered the Hughes family their LaBelle home free of charge for as long as they need it. A homeless person helped by something other than taxpayer money? It’s almost like we don’t need charity forced on us. Read the full story HERE.

 Phoenix is #2!

Not in the category they want to be, instead ABC news is reporting that Phoenix is the #2 ranked city in the world for kidnappings. They averaged just over 1 per day in 2008. How could that possibly be happening without the media catching wind of it? Darrell Ankarlo from KTAR in Phoenix has been covering this story for a long time, has authored a book about it (Another Man’s Sombrero) and joined Glenn today to talk about the madness that is daily kidnappings in Phoenix. Bill Clinton wants fairness

So it would make sense that he is now for the ‘Fairness Doctrine’ – a policy that’s coming up in the political conversation way too often for anyone who likes free speech. The market has spoken and so far they don’t like many of the liberal shows that have been attempted – but, when the market decides something that hurts libs, they instantly play the ‘mandate fairness’ card.
