Glenn gets the blogs buzzing

Glenn really got the blogs and the pundits buzzing this weekend with Friday’s TV show that focused on worst case scenarios. Glenn took heat on both sides of the aisle from people who refuse to look at reality, and confuse Glenn’s message on the whole ‘civil unrest’ angle. Glenn doesn’t want people to do crazy things and Glenn isn’t sounding the alarm because of Obama. He’s been talking about the growing public dissatisfaction now for years – and he’s not the only one worried about it.  (Transcript, Insider Audio)

March to Socialism – Hummer tax?

Massachusetts is using the environment to implement its latest attempt at another socialist tax scheme – it’s called the ‘Hummer tax.’ They want to charge more for registration on large SUV’s and give discounts on registration for hybrids and fuel efficient cars. Does anyone think that SUV sales will slow down because of a registration fee? Not likely. Tax the rich, give to the poor – SUV’s still polluting the earth. (Transcript, Insider Audio)

We Surround Them – Principle #5 If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

The man who Governor Blagojevich appointed to Obama’s vacated Senate seat, Roland Burris, has been called upon to resign. The new Governor Pat Quinn says ‘Burris must put the interests of the citizens of Illinois ahead of his own.’ After saying he had no inappropriate contacts with Blagojevich, Burris has since given several versions of his dealings with the ousted Governor. Guess what would happen to an ordinary Joe who lied on his job application? He’d lose the gig.  Burris, a politician, will likely stay in office and in the process hurt America because we can’t trust his word. Apply penalties evenly – no one is too important or too smart to pay the price. Until we learn that, there will be a trust deficit in Washington D.C. Read the story here.

Climbing for Seals

Glenn had dinner last night with good friend of the program, Navy Seal and author of Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell. He’s an amazing man and is just one example of how many brave American men and women we have fighting for us in our special forces. Another friend of the program, Michael Kobold, also understands just how amazing people like Marcus are and he stopped by to tell of his quest to climb Mt. Everest that will benefit the Navy Seal Warrior Fund. (Transcript, Insider Audio)
