On Today’s Program

Does Glenn have heart? 

No. Not when it comes to that annoying lady on the Manhattan street corner always saying ‘doesn’t anybody have it in their hearts to help the homeless!’ because Glenn actually witnessed one of these ‘volunteers’ taking money out of the jar to buy cigarettes. That and the government is already forcing us to be loving and caring towards the homeless – why bother asking us? Monopoly money?

Glenn was in a horrible mood after watching and reading the news of the day because it’s becoming dizzying to keep track of President Obama’s spending. $800 billion stimulus here, $400 billion omnibus bill there, $3.6 trillion dollar budget over there and don’t forget about the hundreds of billions going towards nationalizing banks. Steve Moore tries to talk Glenn off the ledge, a near impossible task given the truth of the situation: we’re screwed. ( Transcript, Insider Audio)

Obama announces Iraq war plans

Interesting how Obama suddenly sees things improving in Iraq – enough so to end the war. What happened to the miserable failure? Did all of those failed policies turn around in the last 60 days? Did the soldiers use hope and change to miraculously defeat the enemy? Another weird twist on the war front – people suddenly support the idea of a surge in Afghanistan by a margin of 2-1. Huh? Wasn’t this ‘just more of the same failed policies’ when Bush announced the troop surge in Iraq? Didn’t Obama say the surge would and DID fail? Plus, even though he is ‘ending’ the war he will leave 50,000 troops there. ( Full Story)

We Surround Them – Charity

Mike called into the program and like many Americans he is frustrated at the outrageous spending and blatant distribution of wealth that President Obama is ramming down our throats. The common sense value of charity is so far distorted that it’s important to remind people that charity does not come from the government. President Obama is trying to convince you of that, and Joe Biden tells us that paying taxes is patriotic, but how many people feel charitable on tax day? How many people donate extra money to the government? True charity comes from the people giving on their own accord – not when government takes their money and does whatever they want with it.
