Well, sort of. In their 'Time 100' issue, that reveals their list of the most influential people in the world for 2009, Rush Limbaugh was named to the list. Glenn was asked to write a piece on Mr. Limbaugh so, on the cover of Time it reads 'Rush Limbaugh by Glenn Beck.' That's probably the closest Glenn will ever get to being on the cover of Time magazine. Glenn was humbled and honored to be asked to write about the talk radio king - the man who revolutionized and saved an entire industry with one Golden EIB microphone. Read the piece here.
>>Glenn also popped up in Entertainment Weekly as he took part in their "stupid questions" feature. Finally, a venue where Glenn could actually say he was trying to be stupid in his answers. READ
Sad state of affairs in Philly
Glenn takes on a critic who blasted Glenn, saying "Beck and Fox pretend to fight for the little guy but do nothing to promote equality." Glenn responded:
"It is a sad day in America when a reporter on a paper in Philadelphia doesn't even know the history of our country well enough, doesn't even know the history of the founding that happened in Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has not read enough of the founders' words to even know the words of Benjamin Franklin. I'm sorry. You can go to your Father Coughlin all the time and pine for the days of the anti‑Semite who also wanted to take wealth from people along the lines of Karl Marx. I would much rather go back and reach back to the founders and the words of people like Benjamin Franklin who you'd think this guy would know, living in Philadelphia and being an educated journalist, who said the best way to help the poor is to make them uncomfortable in their own poverty."
>>VIDEO: Obama says he doesn't want to run the Auto industries ( Watch). He sure has a funny way of showing it. Perhaps he should stop gobbling up these companies if they don't want to run them.
Men in Tweed
Barack Obama, criticized for his associations before the election, is still in the early stages of filling all of his appointees and cabinet members. The hiccups along the way (hiccups = nominees who don't pay taxes) are only part of the story. What do the people who Obama chooses to surround himself with have in common? There are 2 commonalities his nominees have that stand out far apart from the rest. The most prevalent commonality -- well over 50% -- are former Clinton administration members. What's the 2nd and why is it scary? Glenn explains in this week's 'Beck Talks' video.
>>Brian Sack owes you a big apology. You heard him on radio with Glenn shamelessly promoting his book -- but this time he's taken it too far and protestors are demanding an apology. Here it is: Brian Sack's apology to the world.
>>While you are browsing for multi-media fun for the whole family, give Glenn's Best of Callers Vol. 5 a spin. A collection of the best (and worst) callers in recent show history.
>>And if you are like Glenn and into deep talk on Progressivism, see if you can pop in on the Glenn Beck Program's #1 source on Progressivism, R.J. Pestritto. He's the author of American Progressivism and he's giving a speech on ‘The Progressives and the Constitution.’ For more information click here
