‘Is this soldier a traitor or not?’ Glenn reacts to the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl
After nearly five years in captivity, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the only American soldier held prisoner in Afghanistan, has been released. The Taliban agreed to turn over Bergdahl in exchange for the release of five Afghan detainees from Guantanamo Bay. On radio this morning, Glenn reacted to Bergdahl’s release and the Obama Administration’s actions. Given the conversations he has had with veterans like Marcus Luttrell and others, Glenn couldn’t help but wonder how most soldiers would feel about being released in exchange for five terrorists that men and women gave their lives to capture. Jailed Marine shares new details of life in Mexican prison during live appearance on the Glenn Beck Radio Program
Glenn has been following the story of jailed Marine Corps Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi for a number of weeks now. On radio this morning, Sgt. Tahmooressi and his mother Jill both joined Glenn via phone to discuss what has transpired in the 63 days since he was first arrested. Tahmooressi candidly explained in his own words what happened the night he accidently crossed the border and shared some new information about the conditions he has faced. WATCH
Cruz on Bergdahl release: We’ve effectively put a bounty on our servicemen
After winning the straw poll at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans on Saturday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) headed to New York City for several small fundraising events. TheBlaze’s Mike Opelka attended one of the private events during which Cruz spoke about the actions the Obama Administration took to secure the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Opelka recorded a portion of Cruz’s remarks, and, after gaining permission from the Senator’s camp, Glenn played the comments on radio this morning. Listen to the audio HERE.
Glenn’s new book tackles the most important issue in America
There is no issue more important to America’s future than education. The fact that we’ve yielded control over it to powerful unions and ideologically driven elitists is inexcusable. We are failing ourselves, our children, and our country. Glenn’s new book CONFORM: Exposing the Truth About Common Core and Public Education gives parents the facts they need to take back the debate and help usher in a new era of education built around the common sense principles of choice, freedom, and accountability. WATCH: Susan Rice struggles through Sunday morning interviews following Bergdahl release
Former UN ambassador and current National Security Advisor Susan Rice should probably refrain from making the rounds on the Sunday morning shows in the aftermath of major foreign policy events. While her responses on Sunday to questions about Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release may not be quite as egregious as her now infamous insistence that the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya was in response to a YouTube video, she certainly didn’t do the Administration any favors. Glenn reflects on the death of actress Ann B. Davis of The Brady Bunch
On Sunday, Ann B. Davis, the Emmy award-winning actress who became America’s most famous housekeeper playing Alice Nelson on The Brady Bunch, died at a San Antonio hospital. She was 88. There was a lot of news to cover this morning, but Glenn chose to open the radio program reflecting on the era Davis and her beloved character represented. While it is nice to be nostalgic – especially given what is going on in the world today – Glenn highlighted some of the strides we have made. WATCH
