Glenn received a call today from a caller who expressed what so many people are feeling, they are sick and tired of living the same old way.
Jason called in to tell Glenn that he has been at his lowest point. Fired from his job, in and out of rehab. And he recently picked up a copy of The 7: Seven Wonders That Will Change Your Life.
Jason said, “I had been fired from my job, I got $90. I hadn't eaten in a day. My dogs hadn't eaten in two days. On the way to the grocery store, I stopped by the bar to calm my nerves. I got home and I had no money left to feed me or my dogs and I've been in and out of recovery for about the past six years. I listened to your program, especially right around 8/28, the 40 days and 40 nights you were talking about got me a little inspired. I've still been kind of bouncing around. I guess you could say I've been white knuckling life, Glenn, and after I read that first chapter that you read, it really pulled back a lot of memories and I just want to say thank you for the nudge. It's like the beginning of a new day this morning and the first thing I did when I got up is I called your show and I just wanted to wait to say thank you for this nudge, buddy. It's unbelievable what you do.”
But Glenn said that he should be the one thanking Jason. “What a great way to start my day. Thank you,” adding, “You're going to have some dark days in the future, I know and you know that, too, but it will get better. I promise you.”
Glenn said that Jason made an important point during his call, “Now, he just said a very critical thing. He said, I'm sick and tired of it. I just won't live this way anymore. That's the key.”
On Friday, Glenn will do a whole show dedicated to The 7 on television, where he’ll show the relationship between changing the individual and changing the country.
