Glenn and Pat called for National Organization for Women (NOW) to stand up and actually doing something after Rep. Clyburn made misogynistic comments about Sarah Palin. The statements are just the latest example of politicians thinking they know better than average Americans.
The full story of Clyburn’s comments can be found here.
Clyburn said, “Well, you know, Sarah Palin just can't seem to get it on any front. I think that she's an attractive person, she is articulate, but I think intellectually she seems not to be able to understand what's going on here.”
Glenn, as you would expect, was not a fan of these statements.
“Misogynistic. Now, you go to the same kind of statement where you're beginning to see rage on the other side. It is misogynistic. This is what I believe this was: Misogynistic, uninformed, and intellectually just elitism. It's just, we're just so much better and smarter than this. These people are just, they're animals. They just need to be herded by us who are superior,” Glenn stated.
Pat asked, “Where is the National Organization of Women? That is unbelievable.”
Glenn then played the Ed Rendell audio, and tied it all back to Edward Bernays and enlightened despotism. Glenn said, “It's enlightened despotism. Fascism, communism, it doesn't matter; they're enlightened: ‘We know better. You don't get it!’ They nudge. And if the herd doesn't move, they use cattle prods. And if the herd doesn't move, then they find those members of the herd that is slowing the herd down from doing what they need it to do. Because they know what's best for the herd. Well, who the hell put them in charge!”
