DISCLAIMER: This article contains heavy doses of sarcasm. We trust you, the reader, not to interpret this as “violent” or “hateful” rhetoric. Unlike CNN, we don’t think you are morons.
“Violent” rhetoric pervades popular culture, and an anonymous caller named Harry told Glenn a story from his childhood where rhetoric led him to commit a despicable act.
The caller, thinking he had reached Rush Limbaugh, said, “Oh, what an undeserved honor to speak to you, Mr. Limbaugh. Thank you so much.”
“I was a victim of this hate speech when I was a kid,” not named Harry confessed.
As a child, the caller was taken to go see the movie Auntie Mame. What else could he do when he got home, get his grandfather’s magnifying glass, go to the driveway and start “popping and frying and maiming the ants out there”?
Glenn asked, “Were you, were you nuts at the time or were you just unstable?”
The caller added, “I've been having nightmares for over 50 years. I've even ‑‑ I don't know what to do. I don't know, you know, who can help me? The president of China?”
Not named Harry also said that he has been buying gold coins and burying them in the backyard, but Stu advised him this was not a sound investment strategy.
