PARTY MEMBERSHIP BACKGROUND

http://www.associatepublisher.com/e/c/co/communist_party_of_the_soviet_union.htm

§ Membership in the party ultimately became a privilege, with Communist Party members becoming an elite class or nomenklatura in Soviet society.

§ Party members enjoyed many perquisites denied to the average Soviet citizen. Among those perks were shopping at well-stocked stores, access to foreign merchandise, preference in obtaining housing, access to dachas and holiday resorts, being allowed to travel abroad, send their children to the best universities, and obtain prestigious jobs (as well as party membership itself) for their children.

§ It became virtually impossible to join the Soviet ruling and managing elite without being a member of the Communist Party.

§ Membership had its risks, however, especially in the 1930s when the party was subjected to purges under Stalin. Membership in the party was not open. To become a party member one had to be approved by various committees and one's past was closely scrutinised.

§ As generations grew up never having known anything but the USSR, party membership became something one generally achieved after passing a series of stages. Children would join the Young Pioneers and then, at the age of 14, graduate to the Komsomol (Young Communist League) and ultimately, as an adult, if one had shown the proper adherence to party discipline or had the right connections one would become a member of the Communist Party itself.

§ However, membership also had its obligations. Komsomol and CPSU members were expected not only to pay dues but also to carry out appropriate assignments and "social tasks".

§ When the Bolsheviks became the All-Russian Communist Party it had a membership of approximately 200,000. In the late 1920s under Stalin, the party engaged in a heavy recruitment campaign (the "Lenin Levy") of new members from both the working class and rural areas. This was both an attempt to "proletarianize" the party and an attempt by Stalin to strengthen his base by outnumbering the Old Bolsheviks and reducing their influence in the party.

§ By 1933, the party had approximately 3.5 million members and candidate members but as a result of the Great Purge party membership fell to 1.9 million by 1939. In 1986, the CPSU had over 19 million members or approximately 10% of the USSR's adult population. Over 44% of party members were classified as industrial workers, 12% were collective farmers. The CPSU had party organizations in fourteen of the USSR's 15 republics. In the Russian federation itself there was no separate Communist Party as affairs were run directly by the CPSU.

BLAZE/GLOBAL WARMING STORY

§ NASA TARGETS ‘CLIMATE KIDS’ WITH NEW GLOBAL WARMING WEBSITE

§ NASA, the government agency that put a man on the moon and sent robots to Mars, is turning its focus around and working on spreading information among the public about the earth’s apparent impending doom. A new agency website dubbed “Climate Kids” has “NASA’s eyes on the earth.”

§ The website specifically targets young kids with games, movies and other interactive tools that present debated theories as facts. For instance:

§ Additionally, the website tells kids that dinosaurs are in their gas tanks and that polar bears are dying as a result.  ClimateQuotes.com reports:

§ These are obviously two very contentious points with only one side presented. First, they claim that: The planet is warming up fast–faster than at any time scientists know about from their studies of Earth’s entire history. This is flatly untrue. Remember this graphic from the BBC Phil Jones interview?  The trend of recent warming is practically identical to two previous trends. Their second claim, “Humans are causing this warming” is made without bothering to allude to any uncertainty. Even the IPCC only gives a 90% and says ‘very likely’. Saying “It is very likely that humans are causing this warming” at least lets the little tykes know it isn’t an absolute scientific fact (because it isn’t).

§ The site also tackles issues like the greenhouse effect, effects on wildlife (like the polar bear), ocean acidification, and offers kids advice to answer the question, “What can we do to help?”

§ NASA recommends kid plant trees to help save the planet and shows a picture of First Lady Michelle Obama doing her part.

§ The site also encourages kids to get their parents to buy new CFL light bulbs and purchase reusable grocery bags to cut down on waste.  (The picture of the suggested reusable bag is quite telling, no?)

§ “Climate Kids” also suggests kids do simple things like save water, unplug “electricity vampires” and ride a bike instead of taking a car.

§ But if kids want to make a real difference, NASA recommends they grow up to work in a “green career.”

§ You can help to solve climate change problems and challenges. These are the exciting careers of the future. They range from designing satellites for NASA to fixing wind-energy generators to planning drought-tolerant landscapes for homes and parks. Many of the possible careers haven’t even been thought of yet. You could invent your own career!

§ The “Climate Kids” website also has a designated section for educators where NASA offers “climate-related activities for the classroom“ and ”resources on climate change” from the U.S. Department of Education.

§ ClimateQuotes asks the obvious question: “Why do we need federal agencies to create programs which educate children about climate change?”

§ Even if we ignore that question and accept the role of federal agencies as educators, we still are left with a completely one-sided presentation. There is no mention in the NASA site of uncertainties. There is practically no timescale presented to give context. The site urges children to pick certain ‘green’ careers over others. The positives of renewable energy are praised, with no mention of the drawbacks. Whether or not you believe this site should even exist (with taxpayer funding), certainly we can all agree the issues presented need to be balanced. There is no balance on the NASA Climate Kids website.  I’d wager that if all references to NASA were removed, the site would be indistinguishable from an environmentalist site.

§ Good use of taxpayer dollars?  You decide. On a related note, using kids to spread talking points on climate change and a new “green”-driven economy is not new.  1Sky Campaign, an organization supported by a number environmentalist “allies” such as former President Bill Clinton and former White House green jobs czar Van Jones, has also used children to highlight its own political message:

During his campaign, President Joe Biden survived scandal after scandal involving his son Hunter — the Ukraine/Burisma scandal, the laptop scandal, the one involving a stripper from Arkansas and a long-lost child. And yet, after it all appeared to have been swept under the rug, Hunter has now released a memoir — "Beautiful Things."

Filling in for Glenn Beck on the radio program this week, Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere discussed Hunter's "horrible" response when asked on "CBS This Morning" if the laptop seized by the FBI in 2019 belonged to him and reviewed a few segments from his new book, which they agreed raises the question: Is Hunter trying to sabotage his father's career?

Countless corporations — from Delta Air Lines, Coca-Cola, and Porsche to UPS and LinkedIn — are calling out the Georgia voting laws, calling them "restrictive," "racist," and "discriminative." Meanwhile, words like "stakeholder" and "equitable" are starting to show up in their arguments.

On the radio program, Glenn Beck gave the "decoder ring" for what's really going on here, because our society is being completely redesigned in front of our eyes.

There's a reason why all these big businesses are speaking out now, and it has very little to do with genuine ideology, Glenn explained. It's all about ESG scores and forcing "compliance" through the monetization of social justice.

Glenn went on to detail exactly what ESG scores are, how they're calculated, and why these social credit scores explain the latest moves from "woke" companies.

Dallas Jenkins is a storyteller — and he's telling the most important story of all time in a way that many believed was impossible.

Jenkins is the creator of "The Chosen," a free, crowdfunded series about the life of Jesus that rivals Hollywood productions. And Season 2 could not have arrived at a better time — on Easter weekend 2021. Church attendance has dropped, people are hungry for something bigger than all of us, and many are choosing social justice activism, political parties, or even the climate change movement as "religions" over God.

This Easter weekend, Jenkins joined Glenn on the "Glenn Beck Podcast" to discuss the aspects of Jesus that often get overlooked and break through the misconceptions about who Jesus really is to paint a clear picture of why America needs Emmanuel, "God with us," now more than ever.

Award-winning investigative journalist Lara Logan joined Glenn Beck on the radio program this week to argue the Biden administration's border crisis is "enabling" drug cartels, allowing them to exploit migrants, use border wall construction roads, and cross the border much more easily.

Lara, who has witnessed and experienced firsthand some of the worst violence around the world as a war correspondent for CBS News, told Glenn it's "not an overstatement" to call the cartels in Mexico "the most violent and powerful criminal organizations on the face of the earth." And while they're "at war with us, we've been asleep at the wheel."

But Lara also offers solutions that the U.S. can enact to stop these horrific atrocities.

"There's more than 30,000 Mexican civilians who are massacred every year in Mexico by the cartels. And that's just the bodies that the Mexican government owns up to or knows about, right?" Lara said. "There's Mexicans buried in unmarked mass graves all across the country. I mean, everyone knows that the violence of the cartels is not like anything anyone has ever seen before. It even pales in comparison to, at times, to what terrorist groups like ISIS have done."

Lara went on to explain some of the unspeakable acts of violence and murder that occur at the hands of the Mexican cartels — 98% of which go uninvestigated.

"That's not unprosecuted, Glenn. That's uninvestigated," Lara emphasized. "[Cartels] operate with impunity. So the law enforcement guy, the policemen, the marine, the National Guardsmen, who are trying to do the right thing, who are not in the pocket of the cartels — what chance do those guys have? They've got no chance. You know where they end up? In one of those unmarked graves."
