Why are oil companies apologizing like they are criminals? A string of new ads are out where oil companies are saying they “agree” with accusations being hurled their way. What does Glenn think of oil companies apologizing and caving to the left as the price of oil rises?
“Almost all the companies are caving into correctness,” Pat said. “Exxon is doing a certain amount of that. They're caving into we're energy complaint and we're looking to and that's great if you are, seriously, but isn't your main business oil and natural gas right now? Shouldn't you maybe be saying a little something about what is driving the planet right now?”
“That would be like Mercury coming out and saying, you know, we know the President doesn't like our show, talk radio and Fox News and what we do on the internet and you know what, he makes a good point. We agree. He's really right on that one. That's why we're also just going door to door and community organizing for him,” Glenn joked.
“They're hurting the truth here. The truth needs to be spoken. It needs to be‑‑ somebody needs to defend it. Somebody needs to stand up and say, look, this is, you know, 98.4, it is? 98.4 of all energy comes from other sources than solar and wind. Solar and wind make up for like 1.6% of all energy or whatever. Maybe somebody should take a stand and educate the American people and say, look, we're not evil. Yes we are making a profit. There's nothing wrong with that,” Pat said.
Glenn said, “John Huntsman is the largest private chemical company in the world. He's Dow Chemical, but he's privately owned, and everything that he makes is from petroleum, everything, and walking into his world headquarters, the whole first floor is a museum and the first floor on one side is all of the charitable work that they've done, but on the other side is the museum of everything that they create.”
“You walk into the center and on one side you see a house cut in half and it's giant and it's this house cut in half and it's everything in house that you see in that model has been‑‑ is using a product to make it from huntsman chemical. So it's petroleum‑based, everything. I'm telling you, every in that house, I mean, it's everything. It's everything you have in your house has petroleum product in it. Some sort of petroleum product. You go to the museum side and it's every soap and detergent. It is every‑‑ I mean, it's from color crayons to pesticides to detergents to food to medicine, everything, everything has petroleum products in it or has made it possible to be on the market now. When you talk about getting rid of oil, we're not talking about, well, we can have electric cars. We're talking about your clothing. We're talking about your medicine. What do you think the gel caps are made out of? Petroleum‑based products.”
