While President Obama fills out his March Madness bracket, the rest of the world is scrambling to fill the void in leadership. Glenn felt like he was in Bizzaro World on radio this morning as he tried to figure out how France became the voice of global authority.
Remember how Glenn has said that a year from now you won’t recognize America? It seems like that prediction is starting to come true.
“I want to tell you about the U.N. Security Council. They voted last night to now okay a no‑flyover zone. To do that, you have to take out the air defenses of Libya. We are basically, in many ways, declaring war in Libya,” Glenn said.
“You must go in and take those things out. If I would have told you a year ago, six months ago, that France would be leading the way along with the UK and that France would be saying ‘I can't even understand America. What are they doing?’ And France is beginning the bombing today, would you have said I was crazy?” Glenn asked.
“No, usually by now, France would have surrendered to Libya,” Pat joked.
“Why is France and the UK going after this with Libya? Because they have three percent of the world's oil and most of the Libyan oil goes to Europe. If Libya's oil goes away they are now beholden, self‑choices, they made all their choices themselves, but they will then be he beholden to Russia. This is so clear,” Glenn said.
“Now I warned against this last night to say, you know, the time to go and have a no‑fly zone was right away. I showed you why I believe the President didn't. We are changing our allies in our country. We are no longer on the‑‑ I don't believe we're on the right side. We're claiming to be, but all of the actions are that we're not.”
“We have dissed the UK. We have done the same thing to Benjamin Netanyahu. We are clearly, clearly, I believe, in our actions against the country of Israel.”
“I believe you will see people like Ahmadinejad use this and they just want the oil. They're going to steal the oil,” Glenn said.
“People like Ahmadinejad will use this to cause uprisings in Europe. You already have the extreme Islamists going after Europe. You have civil unrest from time to time with the Islamic communities in those two countries, and I've told you before. When the labor unions and the communists bind together with the Islamists in Europe, lights out.”
As Glenn was talking, news broke that a cease fire had been declared by Libya.
“Surely, we can trust Moammar Gadhafi on his promise of a cease‑fire. Because I've heard, Cass Sunstein and George Soros, they helped with the campaign to teach us all that we can trust him. He's an ally. He's a good guy and Jeremiah Wright says so, too. So and Lewis Farrakhan says so, too,” Glenn said.
