Last week on television, Glenn told the story of Casey “The Punisher”, a viral video star who was caught on tape physically retaliating – and dominating – a bully who had repeatedly hit him. Casey finally opened up about the video and his experiences with bullies, and Glenn gave his reaction to the emotional video on radio this morning.
You can see the original story here.
“[Casey] had just taken enough and beaten up all the time and this little kid was just punching him: Come on, come on, you think that's bad? I'll punch you some more, and just keeps punching him. Finally the kid snaps and he just picks him up and throws him down,” Glenn said of the viral video.
“ I think you can even hear Casey going, don't, don't, don't, don't,” he added.
Everyone agreed that Casey was just defending himself, and Glenn said, “When you're being hit and hit and hit and hit, you know, there comes a time you say enough. “
Pat explained that in the interview he talks about how he was bullied everyday all through elementary school. He gained a few friends, but due to bullying he lost them. So he was being repeatedly bullied without a string support network at school to help him through it.
In the video, Casey’s dad said, “I didn't realize how much trouble he was actually in until I had seen that video. And he said, well, that goes on every day, Dad. And I just, and I thought to myself, you poor little bloat, you know? How many years did you put up with this sort of treatment, you know?”
In the interview, Casey described how he even contemplated suicide, but his older sister helped him through the difficult times.
“I'm not a guy who says throw a punch. I believe turn the other cheek but I will tell you that this atmosphere of bullying comes from an atmosphere of zero consequence. Everybody's parent has an attorney. Everybody's parent says not my kid. Yeah, yeah, you know what? It is your kid,” Glenn said.
“It might be your kid that is the bad kid or the kid that is bullying. And it also might be that your kid is the one that is being picked on.”
“There is right and wrong. And our kids in this society can be sucked into that dark, dark world because nothing else has meaning. We have to watch our kids and prepare them so they can conquer darkness,” Glenn said.
