So what exactly is the plan with Libya? The press doesn’t seem interested in asking questions about it, and members of his own administration have railed against similar incidents in the past. What does Glenn think of President Obama’s military moves in the Middle East?
“Yesterday we told you that this Libya thing doesn't make any sense, that we waited too long and then we have the lead being taken by France and England which, again, you can say colonialists are coming in,” Glenn said.
“Then I told you also, let's not disconnect the coincidence of the story of Germany being released, the story in Der Spiegel about the American soldiers posing with the beheaded body of, what, Taliban soldier? Somebody in I think Afghanistan. Most people in America don't really even pay attention to this story because it's an ugly story and it's the worst of us. However, it's not a coincidence that was released, I don't think, at the same weekend we go into Libya and our Air Force bases, you know, our biggest bases outside the United States, if I'm not mistaken, in Germany.”
“And we just had a terrorist attack on that base in Germany in the last couple of weeks. Is it a coincidence that Der Spiegel now releases those pictures where they say it is going to be worse for America than Abu Ghraib? They're stirring the pot,” Glenn said.
“Now comes news that Gadhafi was saying before we went in, "Hey, this is Al‑Qaeda I'm fighting." But now the Pentagon is releasing information that they knew that, yes, those rebel forces are Al‑Qaeda members. These are radical extremists,” Glenn said.
“So now we knew and we are now not just doing a no‑fly zone. You're right, you do have to send in the E‑4s and you do have to send in and take out the missile sites and also the radar installations, but since when is air ‑‑ no‑fly zone bombing tanks? Since when is it bombing tents? And are we protecting now the very people who want to destroy us?”
“If you really know the history of Gadhafi, you listen a little more carefully to Louis Farrakhan's words where he said he has friends all over the world. Yes, he does. Richest man in the world is $53 billion. That's what he has. Gadhafi has $40 billion. You don't think maybe Gadhafi is going to pay for something? You know that he paid for assassins to kill Ronald Reagan? If he's tried to do it before, you don't think that he'll try to do something in America now? Chaos. Chaos. That's where the world is headed,” Glenn said.
