Donald Trump has given some strange interviews and made some crazy statements the past few weeks, but the strangest may have come from his recent appearance on The 700 Club.
You can read more about the interview at The Blaze.
While Glenn thinks that Trump comes across honestly when he says he believes in God, he notes that Trump doesn’t seem able to communicate that message effectivelty to a religious audience.
Among the peculiar lines were Trump’s statement that he has had a good relationship with “the church over the years” rather than with God. “I paved a few parking lots for them, I've built a few buildings. I mean, maybe I'm being too harsh here, but it's not - and maybe it's what Stu said. It's the language that seems weird,” Glenn said.
Stu joked, “Yeah, he's having trouble speaking, almost like he's speaking like a businessman trying to explain faith.”
While Glenn and Pat don’t want to try and judge his heart, the odd language he was using made it sound “like he’s building The Trump Presbyterian Tower.”
When asked about how people send him a lot of Bibles, Trump said, “We keep them in a certain place, a very nice place.” Again, Glenn and the radio crew noted the odd language he used.
Glenn said, “It's not necessarily that he is lying about getting a lot of Bibles or keeping them at certain places and they are very nice places and that he doesn't want to do anything negative. It's just that his language is so bizarre.”
“I think he really jumps out there when he says I live in this amazing part of New York City. It's like that's how he talks about when he's talked about the awesome gold, you know, plating he has on his bathtub. That's him. And that's the only time he seems comfortable in his entire interview,” Stu said.
Glenn said that at times he sounds like he wants to say, “Your Bible would be lucky to be where my Bibles are. They are the best Bibles in the best Bible places and any place in the world!”
While the crew was interested in his comments on faith and religion, Stu nearly lost it when Glenn wanted to discuss Trump’s continuing obsession with Obama’s birth certificate.
“I can't take it. I can't take it with the birth certificate nonsense. Stop. It's so dull and stupid and boring. It's stupid. Stop it. This guy is just trying this is why I can't take him seriously on anything else he's doing. Because he just continues to just push. He just wants attention so badly. Yes, I know I'm saying that about a guy with gold plated name all around the city,”Stu screamed.
