Democracy is flourishing in Egypt, right? Maybe not.
"This comes from the Pew Research center, new poll, 1,000 Egyptians. Okay, the Egyptian Army, 88% approval rating, which is fantastic. The April 6 movement which is the, you know, the young Google types that were supposedly responsible for, 70% approval rating. Muslim Brotherhood, though, beating them with a 75% approval rating. Then we go to how many believe that laws in Egypt should strictly follow the Koran's teachings? 62%.," Stu explained.
"For Israel, let me give you that stat. Egyptians, over half, 54% want to annul their country's three decade old peace agreement with Israel," he added.
"22% see positive American contributions to their society. "
"39% believe that women should have equal rights with men. That's fantastic.," Stu said with sarcasm.
"Only 36% believe that it's important that Christians and other religious minorities are free to practice their faith. Just practice it. Not even equally but just practice it. Only a third of the fabulous democracy that is Egypt believes that."
