Is Delta Airlines anti-Semitic? The answer isn’t as black and white as it seems.
Glenn read from The Blaze, “Delta Airlines is facing a moral dilemma now as they are about to complete an alliance with Saudi Arabia. Delta Saudi. The Delta Saudi deal means that adding Saudi Arabian Airlines to Delta's SkyTeam alliance, for the first time this would allow Delta passengers to fly directly to Saudi Arabia as long as passengers are not Jewish, do not have a passport from Israel, or a passport that is stamped from Israel.”
“The problem here is not Delta Airlines to me. The problem here is the Saudi government who hates Jews. I mean, that's a major thing,” Stu argued.
“This is not a Delta Airlines flight. It's just basically if you're a Delta customer and you have Delta miles and you're going to be traveling to Saudi Arabia, you can book it through Delta. I mean, you know, the flights are going there anyway, people are traveling to Saudi Arabia all the time. To me, I mean, you have to go in there and change their laws. You can't say that Delta Airlines can overrule the laws of Saudi Arabia,” he continued. “You want to talk about the number one company doing business with Saudi Arabia, it's the United States government.”
“Maybe it's time to open up our eyes and say, you know what, that's not necessarily right. That's not necessarily right. What are we doing?” Glenn countered.
“This is the way it starts, Stu. It starts with one. It starts with one. Everything starts with one. One story, one person, you know, one headline. It always starts with one. So this happens to be the beginning of what is either just going to go away or people are going to wake up and go, wait a minute, that's not right. That's not right.”
So who is right? Stu or Glenn? Is Delta at fault for simply following the laws of the country – as they do every other nation to which they fly? Or is this just another step down a darker path?
Perhaps Stu made the best point when he said that the biggest business in league with Saudi Arabia is the United States. Maybe we should lead on challenging their anti-semitic stance.
