Could Barack Obama be the worst capitalist ever? After all, he doesn’t want small business owners to be able to keep their money – but he’s not coming out and saying that. Instead, he’s trying to paint the rich as the bad guys. Glenn breaks down what Obama is really saying on radio today.
“You know, I do not want, and I will not accept a deal in which I am asked to do nothing. In fact, I'm able to keep hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional income that I don't need, while a parent out there who's struggling to figure out how to send their kid to college suddenly finds that they've got a couple of thousand dollars less in grants or student loans,” Obama said. “That's what the revenue debate's about. It's not because I want to raise revenues for the sake of raising revenues or I've got some grand ambition to create a bigger government.”
“We're not even talking about the real rich,” Glenn explained. “In America we're not talking about the real rich. The real rich, the real wealthy, the Bill Gates of the world. They don't take a salary. They don't do that. That's capital gains. That's, everything is in a trust fund. Everything is protected. They're not taking they're not working a job. You're talking about the people who make $250,000 plus. That's not George Soros.”
“What President Obama is talking about is not taxing the people like Bill Gates or even Rupert Murdoch or anybody like that. That's not who's going to get hit by this. This is the people that are climbing the ladder, somebody who's $250,000.”
“I guarantee you if you've ever worked for a small business, that person may make around $250,000,” Glenn added. “They're making $250,000 a year and they're paying people.”
“So what are they going to do? They will cut the salary or cut the expenses of things like healthcare, benefits, they won't expand. What do you think that does not economy?” Glenn added.
“This guy is either the dumbest capitalist that I've ever met. The guy doesn't understand capitalism. He's just the dumbest econ guy on the in the history of the world, or he's not going for a capitalist system.”
“He's got every Harvard, Princeton, Columbia grad ever to graduate that's still alive, and I think they might have resuscitated a few that have died! He's got consultants from the Center For American Progress and George Soros. They're not dumb. They're not dumb. So what is it that they're doing?”
