Glenn joined Dr. Pat Robertson on Thursday to discuss "Restoring Courage" on the "700 Club". Dr. Robertson discussed the motivation behind the event in Israel, his speech to Knesset, and the country of Iran.
When asked why he felt compelled to do the event in Jerusalem, Glenn explained, "It was back in January when Tunisia was about to fall, and I said we are witnessing our Arch Duke Ferdinand moment, which started World War I and then snowballed into World War II. And I was reading the scriptures, I was reading Ruth and Esther. And those two books came together in my head."
"First, what needs to be said, your people are my people, where you go I will go, your God is my God. We need to stand with the people of Israel."
Glenn said that he identified with the Biblical stories and felt that he had to "follow my promptings and go stand there, even if I have to stand there alone."
Glenn and Dr. Robertson also spoke extensively about Iran, whose regime Glenn believes is "evil" and seeking to overthrow the Western way of life. Glenn explained that he felt the regimes of that country and radical religious and political leaders in the region were looking to destroy Israel and the West in order to establish a caliphate.
Nevertheless, Glenn was quick to draw a distinction between your average Muslim and the radicals Islamists who are calling for the destruction of Israel. "I don't believe Muslims are evil or trying to kill everyone who disagrees with them. But I do believe there are Muslims who believe that, and those regimes - and Iran is one of them - who would behead anyone who steps out of line with their distorted view of their religion. That's who you have to stand against."
