President Obama gave another debt ceiling speech - this time while Glenn was on live on radio. Audiences got to see Glenn's immediate reaction and hear his thoughts on the latest chapter in the ongoing debt talks.
"Right now the House of Representatives is still trying to pass a bill a majority of Republicans and Democrats in the Senate have already said they won't vote for. It would force us to relive this crisis in a few short months. In other words it does not solve the problem. And it has no chance of becoming law. What's clear now is that any solution to avoid default must be bipartisan," Obama said.
"We need to reach a compromise by Tuesday so that our country will have the ability to pay its bills on time as we always have. Bills that include Social Security checks, veteran's benefits, and the government contracts we've signed with thousands of businesses. If we don't come to an agreement we could lose our country's AAA rating," he added.
Glenn was exhausted by yet another speech with no plan or solutions. "You have done all that you can. It is in God's hands at this point or other forces. It is in God's hands. If you've done everything that you can then you must be able to unplug, and say I've done my best."
"You must find the positive ways to change your life and be a force for good. You gather with like-minded people."
