Why the violent rhetoric from Sheila Jackson Lee on the debt deal? Why is she calling to “read the bill” when her fellow Democrats blew off that “job responsibility” for the Healthcare bill?
“We're going to read this document, we're going to read this moving target, this unknown entity, and we're going to understand it before we vote for it. Frankly our job for those of us who are Democrats is to nurture and grow our values. Our values are that there are people who are hurting out there and they are dependent on Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Those are not ugly words. And we believe they are, in fact, attractive meals to put in front of people. So this is a question: Who does this legislative initiative help? Does it help small businesses that create jobs? Does it help schools try to keep their doors open so that students can come and have federal Pell grants to keep them in school, meaning our colleges? “ Jackson said.
Glenn then played audio from Jackson’s fellow Democrat who not long ago said in response to GOP calls to read the Healthcare Reform bill, “ I love these members that get up and say, "Read the bill." What good is reading the bill if it's 1,000 pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers.”
“I don't know what to think. There might be some people maybe she didn't mean that, but there might be some people that are listening to her rhetoric and saying that it's that we should go kill people. I don't even know anymore. I don't know. But she's going to read the bill because that's what they do. That's what they do on Capitol Hill,” Glenn said sarcastically.
