The Blaze uncovered an interesting story – CBS is apparently selling a whole lot of Obama merchandise! With books and DVDs, the CBS webstore even had their own Barack Obama section. Of course, after The Blaze posted their story and Glenn retweeted the story on Twitter, it conveniently disappeared from their site.
Pat reacted to the story on radio this morning.
“Wow, that's very, very special. So The Blaze reached out to CBS for some comment and after several hours of being bounced around through various departments, CBS directed The Blaze to a spokesman for CBS Interactive and here's the deal. The statement from the spokesman said the merchandise posted for sale get ‑‑ of course, it was just a mistake. It was a mistake by the store's third‑party provider,” Pat said.
“Yeah, they had nothing to do with it.”
“Here's the quote: It has come to our attention that merchandise unrelated to CBS News was inadvertently made available by our third party provider on the web page that is located in the CBS Interactive online store. The items will be removed. We'd like to thank The Blaze for their vigilance in this important matter,” Pat read.
“Silly them, you know, for those third party providers. You know they wouldn't want anything to besmirch their reputation as a nonbiased news agency, would you?”
