Jimmy Hoffa, Jr.'s comments may be making the rounds, but perhaps even more striking were Vice President Joe Biden's warnings when addressing a union audience. The VP very clearly said he was not joking when he told them that 'our right to exist' is at stake and they (unions) are the 'only folks keeping the barbarians from the gates' and it was up to them to stop the 'onslaught' coming from the Tea Party.
Biden said, "This is a hard through the heart and soul of the labor union. It's a fight literally for our right to exist. Don't misunderstand what this is. Don't misunderstand -- it's not a joke. It's not a joke. Not an applause line. You are the only folks keeping the barbarians in the gates. You are the only nongovernmental power, the only nongovernmental power, the only one that has the power and the capacity to stop this onslaught."
"You are the only nongovernmental power that can stop the onslaught of the Tea Party," Glenn said. "Meaning that there is governmental power that can silence the voice of the American people and this is a call to arms."
"Because if they (unions) don't stop it, the government will have to," Pat added.
"I think this is more important than Jimmy Hoffa, because this is the Vice-President of the United States," Glenn said.
