Once again Romney played the Presidential role fairly well and looked the part, but he did have a couple of not so great moments. One of those was his response to Perry's (correct) description of Social Security as a 'Ponzi scheme', in which he made it seem like he preferred pandering over the truth.
"I want to have a candid conversation with Social Security without scaring seniors," Romney said when asked about Social Security.
“Our nominee has to be someone who isn’t committed to abolishing Social Security but who is committed to saving Social Security,” Romney said. “Under no circumstances would I ever say by any measure it’s a failure.”
Glenn and Stu strongly disagreed with Mitt Romney on this point as both called it a failure.
"My folks live on Social Security. It's a failure. I'm supplementing them," Glenn said.
"I don't know how else you describe a system that is self-funding that has no money going forward other than a failure. How else would you describe it," Stu said.
